With speeds up to 50 to 80 mph the cheetah is the fastest land animal period. This animal has special adaptations to generate amazing speed to catch predators with its light build and long legs. Cheetahs are mosty active during the day and can feed off small to medium sized animals like impalas, gazelles and springbok with prolonged chases they make it easy to catch prey.
