what pizza rolls are you all eating? lmao, that never happens to me. you are either overloading the plate with them or putting too few in and doing it for the same time. you gotta have a time > pizza roll ratio, never trust the directions on the package....everyone's microwave is different (like our microwave is stupidly powerful so i put it on 50% power, spend a few mins getting it right and you will enjoy pizza rolls (and other things) without burning the inside of your mouth, throat and stomach. if you use a toaster oven or air fryer, it's easier honestly...still a need a time > food ratio and temp > food ratio as well.
The edition is so crisp, the tone is so fresh, the camera angles are perfect. And I love most of the vids aren’t even 10mins, yet thorough and clear. How isn’t this even viralER? 👏🏽 🎉 💯
Love this recipe. As a fellow “kid who grew up in Chicago,” my favorite snack food was the classic Chicago pizza puff. It’s a staple of every Chicago hotdog and Italian beef joint, but you can’t get it anywhere else. If you could do a recipe to re-create that, it would be amazing
As someone who lives in the Chicago area, and grew up here, I had no idea they didn't sell them elsewhere. Like when I travel I usually go to fancy places but I never thought to check the local food stands
My mom did something similar except she used pre-made English muffins. Topped them with sauce, veggies, and meat (sausage, pepperoni, etc.), put them in the over for about 15 minute and we had a great snack.
Made them and froze them on a sheet tray lined with parchment and then vacuum sealed after they were frozen. From freezer to oven they were perfect at 450F for 15 minutes which is what the store bought version called for.
Not really a snack but a lifelong favorite of chipped beef on toast (stuff on a shingle). Incredibly basic but so good with cheap Buddig deli meat mixed into the gravy and topped with cracked pepper. Any kind of toast will work.
I guess you've kind of already covered it with the bechamel sauce in the Croque video. Not much else to do after that. Such a great, simple pleasure when put on toast and topped with black pepper.
Have you ever tried the Hungarian staple street food sold at many food stands in major events called "langos"? It is a yeast fermented fried dough topped with only a hint of garlic (garlic in oil and warm water brushed over when it is out from the oil) and sour cream and cheese. It is awesome. Similar to flat breads in shape but not really due to the nature of using sour dough. You surely should give it a go! As a Hungarian I can hardly imagine a better snack for an afternoon with friends around. My half British daughter loves it ever since I've made it for her.
I’m 54 and have never had a frozen pizza bagel. But as I make a lot of your recipes, that’s about to change. Thanks Bri! I’ll be trying these over the weekend.
You've never picked up Bagel Bites? Delicious snack, even in the microwave, but not very healthy. Tends to cook unevenly in microwave so some parts are scorched and will burn your mouth. This video's homemade version is probably great.
Bri! Congrats on crossing the MILLION SUBS milestone! Nicely done... but I am not surprised. Great channel! Ive been watching you for quite a while, (30+k?) And I have loved ALL your recipes... Affer reading other comments. I would like to also place my votes for Toaster Strudels, Pop Tarts (chocolate Fudge) , Tacquitos, and large German Pretzels. Thanks Again Bri! ❤ Cant wait to see what you come up with next....
Love this! Looks so good! Some of my favorites as an 80s/90s kid were cosmic brownies, dunkaroos, taquitos, French toast sticks, soft pretzels with nacho cheese, and those Flintstone Push up sherbet ice cream.
Friggin love all your videos. I don't even like cooking or baking or being in a kitchen but watching your videos have me running out to get all the ingredients to try these out for myself. Love to see your subs go up because it is very much deserved. Keep killin it mate 🤘🏽❤!
Hostess Fruit Pies back in the day were a thing of beauty (at least, to my childhood taste buds - now, not so sure). It was all about the glaze! I also ate my fair share of Pop-Tarts. I sense a theme here...
Also Amish-style salted, soft pretzel wraps with egg, bacon and cheese filling. Tons of fat but delicious. And fresh strawberry ice cream shakes. Whatever you can order at an Amish food stand. Do it all. But also the German-style soft and chewy pretzels. Sorry for the tangent.
B-Dawg! Thanks for this, I made it today and the kids were stoked! I also made French dip this week at home and was wondering how you would go about it (future vid???)? In particular I'm curious how you would go about making the Au Jus, if not from a packet (which is what we did). Keep the amazing content coming, you are my favorite channel on RU-vid. Shaw-dawg
Brian, really hoping you could tackle a childhood favorite of mine that has seemingly ceased to exist in the world as a whole. Schwan's (home food delivery for those who don't know) used to make a pizza wonton roll. It was the best thing on planet earth - pizza roll type filling in a crispy wonton wrapper. They stopped making them sometime in the late 2000s never to be seen again, but I would absolutely love to make them but I just don't have a clue how/where to start. You're the man, btw. Great channel.
Sounds like you know where to start? Get recipes for pizza roll fillings, and put that in a wonton wrapper. As to whether you fry or bake them, only you know. Good luck!
Back in school we had these Italian Dunkers, which were like gooy cheese-filled bread logs with bubbly cheesy tops that you'd dunk in a similarly thick tomato sauce. Hands down the best school lunch food ever.
Did we have the same childhood? 94? About 9 years old. Growing up in Michigan. Watching the Ducks and nom'n in some bagel bites? Ohhhh, the nostalgia. ❤
YES Brian, you have a vid of how to make THIS recipe without a stand mixer, but PLEASEEEE show us how to convert recipes for when you don't have a stand mixer. That video will be the most helpful video of my life! I've searched the Internet high and low and have not found anything helpful on this 😭😭😭
Childehood snack from my youth: the triangles. Sliced towsted white bread topped with a well combined mixture of mozzarella, grated prosciutto cotto, sour cream and an egg. Topped on the diagonally sliced bread (thus the triangles) and baked in the oven until godlen brown on the top. Simple but delicious.
This is quite the accomplishment. I've tried this twice and my bagels were too gassed or too dense was never able to find the medium. Thanks for the tips
I'll have to try these. I did your hour bagels twice now and they're quite good. Try adding whole kumquats to your pizza sauce before blending. Probably 6-12 for that volume. Trust me.
Mortons had the really small donuts that had cinnamon sugar on them. They were frozen, and you heated them in the oven. Slight crisp on the outside and soft inside. These were SO AWESOME.
Being almost 60 now, I agree my life peeked as a kid while camping in the house-fort watching movies and enjoying bagel(or english muffin) tiny pizza! Kids, you just dont appreciate your childhood enough! :)
My favorite childhood snack was "Minnesota sushi" pickle, cream cheese, and some sort of cured meat (I usually used bologna, but that's not the only way)
My favourite sandwich last week and my favourite snack this week. My nephew could live on mini-bagels and, I can't wait to surprise him with these for his birthday! I'd love to see what you'd dream up for a veggie burger. Thanks so much!
Omg yes mighty ducks! ❤ I love that one of the kids became Foggy in the Daredevil series . These pizza bagels look so good and I wanna eat one right now. Defo making these soon. There's something about the nostalgia we get from food and childhood memories that makes it so special. Love making food from when I was younger sometimes
I remember those dark days before Bagel Bites broke the totalitarian control of the pizza industry, when the distribution of pizza was highly regulated and you couldn't have pizza in the morning, or in the evening, and only occasionally at suppertime. Truly, society is better now that we can have pizza anytime.
as a kid who grew up in a shredded peperoni town... try shredded pep. just break out the ol box grater and go to town. its the "not so big that it takes over the bagel but you get way more crispy edges then what you will get from the chunks.
Mine was Keebler's Pizzarias chips. They were shaped like Doritos but were flour-based, not corn, so the chip was like the bowl of a taco salad. They were amazing and I'd be thrilled to see your take on them.
Crumpets toasted as 'pizza' was my thing - toast the bottom aggressively, then flip it kver and cover with ketchup then cheddar and a sprinkle of dried basil. Toast it until melty and gorgeous.
Not a childhood snack but when I was in NY a couple years back I had a pizza pretzel. It was one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. I haven’t been able to find it anywhere else. It would be great if you could recreate it. Cheers.
Hi Bri that became my fave quick lunch when i came to Toronto Canada in the 90's but i make bagel pizza now with regular bagels and upgrade on toppings store bought pasta sauce and mozarella balls my fave easy one is green peppers and mushrooms and green onions😋😋😋😋😋😋congrats on million subs...
If you could recreate those Iltaco Pizza Puffs, you know the ones, that would be amazing. Maybe also those 'tamales' almost every hot dog spot in Chicago sells.
When I was a kid growing up in Waukesha, Wisconsin, we used to make what we called, OWLS. An Owl was half of a cheap hamburger bun with a very thin layer of hamburger meat spread edge to edge, and then with a generous sprinkle of garlic salt. Pop under the broiler for a few minutes til the meat was cooked, the grease started to penetrate the bun, and the edges of the bread was toasted. Disgusting and delicious!! I've never met anyone else that had the same experience, but I recall once seeing a website that mentioned them...
Growing up, my parents weren't big on frozen snacks. But, if we were hanging out in the neighborhood, our go-to snack to buy were Jamaican Chicken Patties. The best!!! I occasionally grab a frozen one now from time to time.
I see why you do the sauce that way, I prefer to run the herbs in a grinder or mortar/pestle and spoon mix the sauce as I prefer slightly chunkier tomato in my sauce and agree the herbs being chunky isn't he best. I'll definitely give this a shot. Looks tasty!
I actually take Everything Bagels (Regular Size) and top them with Mozzarella and Pepperoni, bake at 400° for 10 minutes.... 💥BANG 💥.... I got Everything Pizza Bagels.
a little Tip I have for this is: put your bagels into the freezer for a few hours (like 2) before adding toppings to cook. it will prevent the bagel from over cooking and will still have a bagel texture on the inside 😋
