I had no idea who Nate Bargatze was, but if he can inspire a series of well written, deftly directed and hilariously acted sketches, I am so grateful.

The very casual but sincere way he kept saying "I'm sorry" made me laugh harder every single time.

Whoever came up “impossible catfish” is a genius 😂😂😂

Kenan pushing that plate like a disappointed cat is hilarious.

This is why comedians should host SNL. This was the best episode in a long time

How the winner immediately begins apologizing and continually does so is what makes this skit as gold as it is

What makes this funnier for me is that I am Mexican American and have a friend who is a chef and white and he made tamales one year and they were the absolute best I've ever had. No one in my family could believe it was his first time or that he has no Latin in his family. 😂😂😂

Deconstructed blacked eyed peas had me dying 😂😂😂 kenan is hilarious best sketch of the night for me.

"I don't know, I live in France." Every line in this sketch has me rolling.

The way Mikey Day said the collards cracked me up! Just his delivery alone with a complete lacking of soul on a typical soul food was ridiculously funny.

"And you'll be an honored guest at this years' Essence Fest" "Wow... NO thank you"

Kenan's inability to break character is a true marvel. That dead stare after pushing the plate was pure magic.

I truly hope that Kenan stays until the bitter end. The guy is truly the GOAT. His delivery of lines is so incredibly sharp and cutting. There's a build up with many of his characters and then he just slays it within 15 seconds. The plate off the edge is a one of the many brilliant Kenan moves.

Really cool to see Padma in this sketch. Also, hilarious every time Nate said "I'm sorry" 😂

Nate Bargatze was freaking brilliant. Was great that the writers had such a fabulous host to work with and stepped up with the material this week. Props to whole cast for great show!

I love how the plate is thrown, like a cat pushing things off a table 😂 Love how Padma Lakshmi announces the prizes, and love, love Nate 😂

I know that Lorne is not a big fan of improv, but there's no way Kenan knocking the plates off the table was at all part of the sketch. Heidi's reaction was too genuine.

I’m crying🤣…This happened to me irl! I’m a white woman and I used to work in an office with eight black women and me. I overheard a few of my coworkers talking about their cornbread recipes and friendly-bragging about how much their families loved their cornbread. At the next potluck with the board members I brought my cornbread, which is a recipe handed down from my Appalachian grandfather that I’ve added finely diced red chilis and jalapeños to. Everyone went absolutely nuts over my cornbread, but were kinda shocked when they found out I had made it… I got a few weird looks and a couple of the board members just kept going on and on about it. I was embarrassed but glad they liked it! When I told them that my grandmother who taught me how to cook was from New Orleans it made more sense to them… so next time I brought my gumbo… That went over just as well!

The apologizing shouldn’t have been as funny as it was XD just flawless delivery. Love everything about this skit.

This by far is one of the best SNL skits I've seen in a looooong time. Kenan throwing the food on the ground, I replayed just that part 10 times.

I watch Nate every chance I get and love his fresh take on life through CLEAN comedy. He's a comedic genius.

This was a GEM of a sketch on so many levels. In my opinion, the best comedy has a grain of drama at its center.
