Hey guys! I wrote this song because I was feeling like there’s so much we can do that we don’t always do. It feels sometimes as if we can’t get to the level of a relationship with Hashem that we’d like… I was having a moment like that when I went to clear my head by a rebbi of mine as he suddenly started reading the mesilas yesharim; “ואמנם כבר ידעת (Now you already know) שהנרצה יותר בעבודת הבורא יתברך שמו (that what’s most wanted in the service of the creator blessed is His name) הוא חפץ הלב ותשוקת הנשמה (is the desire of ones heart to do as Hashem pleases and the yearning of their soul to get closer to him)”. As my rebbi read that, I really felt Hashem telling me that we need to do the best we can while canceling out the outside noises telling us ‘we’re not doing it like them’ and Hashem will help with the rest to make sure we get to a place of ״חפץ הלב ותשוקת הנשמה״
