Last summer Olise signed a contract with a 55 million release clause where he would get paid roughly 10 million out of it. The release clause was only for clubs in the champions League. As chelsea are not in the CL he would not be getting the 10 mil and asked chelsea to cover it by bumping up his wages to 350k/week. Chelsea thought this was too much and said no.

Chelsea don’t want to add more players on high wages, they want to move on the ones like sterling who are. This is not the first deal Chelsea have walked away from because of wages. Osimhen wanted to join Chelse but Chelsea won’t pay his wage demands either and walked away. That not ‘rejection’.

He literally accepted personal terms last season. It's not about rejecting or not rejecting. Chelsea and Olise couldn't find an agreement on his wages after he had a good campaign last season. It's as simple as that.
