I dont think he was paid, i think he's just a horrible referee. The red card towards the barcelona player wasn't even a yellow card foul. So they were just robbed by the worst referee ever

Watch the first leg. Chelsea robbed Barca just as hard. Barca should've won 3-0 in a fair world, Essien, Terry and Ballack should've been suspended and Puyol should've never received that bs suspension. Don't act like only Chelsea was robbed

Should've been 3-0 after 30 minutes, with Essien sent off and Terry and Ballack suspended for the second leg. None of that happened. If it happened like it should've, Barca would've went into the 2nd leg at least 3-0 ahead, with their strongest XI against a weakened Chelsea...

They will go on and on how we paid the ref then completely ignore someone when they show them proof that the match was rigged, abidal got a red becuse anelka was close to him when he dived (it wasn't even like he touched him and he dived, no he fell flat on his ass without abidal even touching him) and also the fact that mattheus should have been sent off but he wasn't. Barca didn't pay the ref they where just lucky that the refs bad decisions happened to go in the direction of chelsea more then in the direction of barca

The only thing that’s stone wall is the pique hand ball. The first penalty claim is nothing. The claim by Drogba is a great tackle, clearly winning the ball. The other supposed handball hits him almost in the armpit.
That was not a dive. Abidal accidentally clipped one of Anelka's trailing legs after Anelka cut across him, and that trailing leg hit the other trailing leg and he fell over. It happens all the time in football. Anelka was clean through on goal, and was faster than Abidal.
Ballack wasent even supposed to be there in first leg he got a yellow card and he was gonna get another but the ref didn’t have it and it was a clear yellow and those penaltys weren’t even penalty’s only the pique one

In reality it was like 5 or 6 cases of penalties and yellow/red cards the ref just ignored. Uefalona had 1 whole shot on the target. Just 1 and it went in... so rigged...

Did you see the one Messi play on ballack hand early in the game... Why are Chelsea fan playing victim, all those divings they are calling penalties wouldn't still be penalties in modern football with VAR... The only wrong decision against them was pique hand ball...
Bad officiating is apart of the game. There was no VAR at the time. Still Barca was the MUCH better team. Coming from a Chelsea fan, it was hard to watch but Barca was still the much better squad. Bad officiating went both ways don’t forget the game at Camp Nou.
This wasn't one or two bad calls that the referee could be exempted for. It was 90 minutes of blatant match fixing. One possibility is that UEFA didn't want a Chelsea v United final two years in a row and would rather have a Messi v Ronaldo final. This would boost anticipation and viewer count.
The reason why you will know that ref knows what he was doing is that, if it wasn't handball, he would have given Ballack yellow card for talking to him like that.

Abidals foul wasn't even for a yellow card but the ref knew he messed up so badly he had to give something... worst ref ever. Well, Uefalona bought it.....

Yes there where some questionable things happening in the 1st game, but nothing compared to the one in London. All good tho because revenge was sweet in 2012...
