I just got my foam gun from NAPA and i cant wait to use it. I would say the cheap one you just have to be more careful with it. Cant just drop it to the ground and keep going. Have to take care of your thing and they will last much longer...
I bought a 17 usd foam cannon from Amazon to my pressure washer. All brass housing and connector. It works fine. Thick n nice foam with all kinds of soap brands. Great video!!! 👋
I got that a month ago, that's how I got my foam cannon. Absolutely phenomenal deal, especially when you price everything out individually on the website
This dude's like the Richard Simmons of car washing. OMG FOAAAMM YEAH I LOVE IT WOOOO C'MON GUYS YES YOU CAN DO IT OMG SO MUUUUUCH AAAAAAAAAAAND I'm spent.
50 bucks? Last year I bought an Honest Wash foam gun that honestly, outside of a slightly different quick release, is the same thing for 35. Chemical Guys must use some VERY high quality stickers.
The beginning bulk of the chemical guys foam seems to stick to the vehicle longer compared to the beginning bulk of the suds n spray foam; that's what I'm seeing even after replaying.
I have the Carrand one I got at Walmart relabeled under Oxiclean. The foam doesn't stick as long as the CG's foam, and it doesn't have adjustable settings, but for $20 I've always had great luck using it on my car.
For those of you arguing whether a foam gun or foam cannon is better. They are very different tools and are useful in many separate ways. Although. I must admit that foam guns have more uses. The only downside is they burn through soap. I personally use a Foam Cannon, but honestly, that’s just because it’s more fun. Starting to think I should have both set up. Mmm. Foams for days. Another good one Chad, keep ‘em coming!
I had a hell of time getting the right combination with the Torq to quick-connect with my Harbor Freight Bauer 2000 Electric pressure washer. 1/4 inch seemed standard. Hose foam not the same as pressure washer and mine worked that way too - very runny. Will keep for hose app. Rubber ring failed - Chem guys replaced! faithe Bought an Ethos Gun, no issues!
recently moved to a new house and tried the suds n spray foam gun, i love it so much especially since i dont have a pressure washer for now but this is amazing
Chad. Bought the Carrand Foamer a few days ago and finally got to use it yesterday after a badly needed wash my highlander needed. I used Gold Class at first to give it a presoak and I liked how it foamed and covered my vehicle. I did go through an entire canister-full to get her done. And since that was fun, I brought out the CG Citrus Wash I bought awhile back and foam-wise, both the CG Citrus Wash and Gold Class were comparable through this foamer...not bad at all. Also, I can see this foamer replacing my 2 bucket method as I can easily begin washing once the foam is sliding down and separetly rinse my MF pad to rinse off any debris.
My Carrand gun died after maybe a year. Something internal on the gun broke so the water was on full as soon as I turned on the garden hose. Replaced it with the Chemical Guys Snow Foam Blaster r1 which just showed up today.
I ended up splitting the difference a couple months ago. I bought the Foam King gun on Amazon for $32. It is the exact same foam gun as the Chmical Guys. Probably comes from the same factory and the same person is putting different stickers on it. I just refuse to spend the extra $18 for a Chemical Guys sticker. I picked up some Chemical guys products back around Christmas because apparently you need to use Chemical Guys in order to be a cool detailer. The real reason I bought their stuff was because it was 60% off on Amazon, which brought their prices out of orbit, and I wanted to see if it was worth the hype. It wasn't. Don't get me wrong, it was good stuff but nothing of theirs I've used has blown me away. If I'm going to pay Chmical Guys prices something better blow me away. Anyway, I digress. I went with the Foam King over the Carrand because I like that you can adjust the foam level to slow down the use of soap. However, I find myself only using it on the full foam setting anyway. It does use a lot of soap but if you look at it from the perspective of soap per car it equals out. I put 4 ounces of wash in a bucket for the two bucket method to wash a car. If you suds a car with a full tank of the foam gun you're really still using the same amount of soap. Lastly, you may have already tried this, but if you turn the brass dial at the back of the Chemical Guys foam gun you can adjust the pressure on the stopper. If you increase the pressure you may be able to get the gun to stop leaking before you squeeze the handle.
I bought the cheap foam cannon from Walmart, made of plastic just like the carand one. The seal on the quick release has started to break not even owning it for 3 months, worked great in the beginning now I just get soacked with water. More water comes out the quick release area than it does out the front with foam!! Hahaha
Same here. Just started that for me. I’ll probably add a rubber washer to the gun and see if that helps. I use that same soap but much less and get a better result because I mix it with the water. Foams up better.
I have use four (3) Carrand Foam Guns. Each one failed after using for approximately 6 washes. The first failures I blamed on possible setting it down to roughly on the driveway. The second was the same and I realized it was not my error. The third I needed to quickly wash someone else’s car so I made the purchase again. It lasted for 5 washes and then hose end attachment handle separated (all plastic). That was enough I will never buy another.
Great Video!! I'm Thinking of getting A Foam Gun from Chemical guys This Will be My first One I've Owned!! But I Got A question about The Quick Disconnect Spring if it Wears Out How Can You Fix it?.. To Make it Last Longer?...
ForeignBorn Patriot yeah cause everybody has the funds and lives in a house for a pressure washer. The foam gun is just a inexpensive way to add extra suds to the wash. It has its purpose.
Luis Ariza I use to have a foam gun. But even in an apartment you still can’t use a foam gun. And the foam cannon I have cost me 20$. My electric washer 2000 psi was 150$. It didn’t break the bank.
My Carrands leaks between the clear plastic and front nozzle. The only way I have found to fix it is to turn it off, point it down, pull the trigger and then point towards the car. Weird. Carrand’s is sending me a new one, so good on them for the customer service.
thanks for spraying the car without the soap tank, I was wondering if I needed to buy another head for just spraying water and it looks like I don't need to!
Excellent review. Thats the way to do it. Very helpful. Picked up the CG foam gun under a different name(Gilmore foam master)at a local discount store for $5.99. Great deal! Might be able to find something like it and save some $...in the garden centers???
You get what you pay for and sometimes buying a cheaper stuff isn’t a good idea. I’ll take the CG because brass will outlast plastic and more durable because if you drop plastic it more likely to break you get what I’m talking about.
you still need to wash. A foam cannon is designed to lift away much of the dirt and loosen it up. It helps to get rid of much of the dirt which may instill swirls on the wash side of things.
Did you get the spring replaced on the chemical guys foam sprayer? Does it even come with a warranty when you have spent so much? If the chemical guys take care of that thing it would be great, but let me know if you even tried contacting them? From what I am hearing chemical guys charge way too much just because of their brand name which is a real shame!
I got a Harbor Freight today for $10. But it has a very small canister. These are OK for the money. But they can't compare to the foam cannon hooked to a spray washer.
I thought you were growing a Mohawk! Haha Go back and look at your thumbnail. Great comparison video. I had the Walmart one but it kept leaking on me so I returned it. It did make good foam though.
GREAT VIDEO, I bought that Walmart one and it only foams for about 3 seconds then it starts to stream more water that foam. I guess i got a defective one....
Go on amazon and look up foam gun there is a lot of the chemical guys foam guns for way cheaper. Got mine for $28 it Obviously Does not say chemical guys but it is the same gun
You must be new to my channel so first off welcome! Secondly look through some of my videos, you will see I own several foam cannons and a pressure washer:)
Seems like with one of these guys you go through a lot more soap then you do with a foam cannon I'm trying to get all my stuff together so I can detail my car this weekend haven't had a weekend off in forever
The offset is that you will spend a lot less with a foam gun vs a cannon. You have to buy the pressure washer and the foam cannon and not just hook up the foam gun to the hose. You will have to really search your financial needs of what you want to spend. Most foam cannon soaps are 2oz per time and the foam gun is about 5oz.
Acc0rd79 but like you've said before I already have one for cleaning the house and stuff I've got one of the cheap Ebay or Amazon foam cannons I think I paid $11 for mind looks the same as yours I'm hopeful that I will get to put it to the test tomorrow I'm excited hope it all works out I love FOAM
The walmart one is shit, the second time i used it it came apart while i was spraying down the hood of my corolla and landed on the hood leaving a dent
