Hi Margaret! I would love to know the answer to that question!!! Today, the issue is getting to the edge of town (big city) vs getting to my Gîte/alberge, etc. The bigger the city, the farther the walk. Bon Chemin!
Hi Baby! This is a great question that I actually have very strong feelings about! Your feet are everything on Chemin and Camino!!! I wear REI silk sock liners (not the polyester ones) and Darn Tough merino wool socks. I think this is an unbeatable combination. After 20 days, I have only experienced one blister. And, that’s on a toe that insists on hiding under another toe. That one little piggy 🐷 is always going to be a problem. Bon Chemin!
Oh! Shoes: I am wearing Keens mid-level boots this year. I chose them because of their wide toe-box and cool heel grip on the inside back of the boot. My left foot has been happily cruising in these since the first day. My right foot developed plantar fasciitis after a week. I don’t think it’s the boot. I think my prescription orthotic inserts need to be updated. A 500 mile walk will ultimately change the shape of your feet. I should have gotten new orthotics after completing the French Way in ‘22. Love my Keens 💕🥾😎 Bon Chemin!
