Do the IRS count benefit as in you have taken advantage of a gift worth thousands of dollars (in other words you've grifted freebies to the value of)?

In the UK 🇬🇧 we have to pay tax on "Payment In Kind" transactions! i.e. we'll do this or that if you let us use your private jet to the tune of $30,000...thats taxable!

I believe they use Archewell to pay for everything. They get donations, but then they can write off all their expenses as business expenses thru archewell - housing, transportation, clothes, travel - everything.

The US use of the verb CHECK as opposed to the actual noun CHEQUE *is half the ruddy problem!!!* In the 🇬🇧 a Bank CHEQUE is a 'Cheque.' Not a 'Check'. *'Check'* is a VERB - something you do with a money 'Cheque' to ensure you've filled that cheque in right and attached it firmly to the document it needs to travel with, *before you seal the envelope and send it.* One is asked to fill in the Printed Form, to Sign it, to Properly fill out a Bank CHEQUE, (and SIGN it) and to *CHECK* that your *CHEQUE* is FULLY 'ATTACHED' - i.e., *stapled* (not paperclipped or stupidly added LOOSE in the envelope) to your *Correctly Filled out return FORM.* 🙊 It's so simple even 🐌 -mail can 'get' it there.

Wedo not file electronically, so we pay the IRS by check. I start checking to see if it has cleared after about a week. Why didn't they cancel the check and send another one in 2023. Something is fishy.

From what I have read, H inherited from the late Queen Mother's estate as well as his mother (who apparently left most of her inheritance to him because she knew William would be Monarch one day). Plus there are rules for transferring funds and reporting of every detail. PS My mistake was checking the wrong box on the State tax form. Not a financial error. We are legit!!

It's not that kind of form, it's informational... the state wants to know the company address , the company officers, the last reported gross value of the company, if the company made sales in California, if the company has employees in California. The company's Federal Tax ID is required and the class of the entity: a C corp, an S corp, LLC, etc., and the company's state ID number If sales were made in California and/or if the company has employees in Calfornia then that info is provided to the appropriate state agencies...If nothing has changed it take 5 minutes.

Cheques aren't used much in the UK either. I haven't written a cheque in years.

I haven't written a cheque in all my life, nor have I seen my parents do it. It was either transfer (pre-online banking done with forms you put in the banks mailbox), or paying cash. I never even owned a chequebook, and the only times I see 'cheques' they are huge cardboard things that get passed people during charity events for photo-ops. Monthly expenses or other recurring stuff many people here do with automated transfers (Lastschrift). I don't even know if banks still provide cheque services here, I guess they do, but I can't tell you. So, hearing that cheques are still a thing in the US is a bit surprising to me, as the 'cliche' is that Americans pay everything with cards, even the most minute amounts, and that US tourists get baffled that many little shops here don't accept cards (credit cards in particular).

Not necessarily, I have had several pieces of mail never made it to my house when my mother would send me checks in a card for my birthday! the post will steal & open envelopes when they think you have a check or a gift card in it….happens more than you think!
