I remember watching Michael Douglas when I was a kid. Surprised to enjoy him as much now as I did then. Rarely do you see a tv host that is as welcoming and attentive to his guests while remaining engaged and entertaining his audience.
I love Cher she’s always displayed such loving qualities and you can certainly see that in the way she interacts with her children - Cher is awesome 👏 🇦🇺😎
This episode brings back a lot of memories for me . It was aired less than a month before my dad passed away March 24th , 79 . I was only 10 years old . I love Cher and that she brought her kids on the show . I loved it when Mike Douglas sang an Elvis song , bc I love Elvis Presley !! I love that he had Charles Swartz on , bc I loved watching Charlie Brown when I was growing up. Then I grew up and married a Charlie Brown . lol !! We've been married for 30 years . I love that Mr. Roger was on here too . I loved to watch his t.v. show too when I was a little girl . Mike asked him a great question, what makes children scared ? My husband and I have often wondered , how does a baby know to be scared ? Children I can understand, but I still don't know the answer for babies . My grandfather use to say , the reason children loved to watch Mr. Rogers so much was , bc he had such a soft tone in his voice . That's true ! Children will respond to you better if you are a little more calm and patient enough with them . Absolutely loved this episode....!! Thanks so much for it !! ❤
Thank you for this episode! All great things from my childhood. All three of these men were ssuch legends now. MD was so great to have all children hero's for Chers kids. He was was such a great host. Terry looks so young there.
This is an awesome episode. With Charles M. Schulz. 💕 I realized I have never seen him, only seen his signature below the Peanuts comics. He was such a gentleman and looked totally different from how I imagined him to look. 😄 And I love how slow paced this show is. Guests have actually time to talk even with commercial breaks in it and they stay seated and listen to the other ones that are introduced one after another. Sometimes they just say nothing for a few seconds 😄everyone actually takes their time for the guests. Although the host already interrupts some of them rudely like they do it today. I miss these much slower 70s. The 80s already started to get faster with MTV coming in and all that super short cut clips they did. I just walked over to my DVD drawer (yes, I am that old) and took out our Peanuts Christmas DVD to watch it in a few weeks on a cozy winter day 🥰 Along with the Muppets Christmas story. Reminds me of my childhood.
@@donnalombardo212 How would you possibly begin to think you know anything about that? Do you know Chaz personally? Are you a bible thumper? Don't put your judgement on others. It's ugly.
@@tammieparrishmiller3669 it's her stupid mother's fault if Sonny were here she would never have been that way I'm not the only one who said that either
I've been watching Cher clips for a week or so and they just keep popping up, there is no end in sight. I love Cher, and I have to say I always felt that Chastity was a little butch. Same with Kristy McNichol when she was in Family.
Thank you so much for this! Last night I watched the hour long documentary on the show. And now I get to watch an entire episode. This is so great! I was born in 1955 and remember this show very well... but don't remember this episode.
The length of talk shows in those days was 90 minutes, an hour and a half. This allowed for much more intimate conversation and ultimately better interviews where the audience gets to know the subject more.
What a great show ......great guests , free to interact with each other . mr.rodgers ,he was speaking up that chilldren not be traumatized by tv.....he would be so sad to see it now . The things they are exposed to.
I’ve always wanted to know what singers think about when they sing! Like I think about the lyrics but what does Cher think about “I miss Sonny” “Are my kids alright, where are they?” “C’mon Cher song well”
@@donnalombardo212 PLEASE, with all of your infinite wisdom, tell us all how so. I want to know everything you know. It should take all of two minutes.
@@mybiz2167 Indeed, you are correct. Wow. Talk about clueless, this lady takes the cake! Heaven forbid she had children and one or more happened to be different in any manner, they would be sure they couldn't come to her for support. What a shame.
Was this what a ventriloquist was like in 1979 he's not trying very hard at all he should've at least kept his head behind the puppets so the kids didn't see his mouth moving
There's something wrong with that child (Elijah). He's completely emotionless on every appearance with his mother. Was/is it from the drug abuse of his father that effected him genetically?
i wouldn’t read too much into it. gregg was absent for most of his life especially childhood. he was likely just dazed. plus cher has that kind of emotionless gaze too. doesn’t mean too much
One thing about Charles, he made sure that a murdered young woman in the US - obviously long ago - got a Snoopy drawn/etched on her headstone. Because she was a fan. ❤
