She looks and sounds fine, however, there is something incongruous about a 53 year old Currie performing a blatant teen rebellion anthem like "Cherry Bomb".
Cherie, Joan, Lita, these women are rounding 60 years of age and they are all still hot. They are still talented and will forever live on in rock history.
When first heard Cherrie snarl "Hello Daddy Hello Mom" in 1976 I was 16 and it changed my life. It empowered me and from that moment forward I was changed into a strong independent teenager ready to take on the world.
She's probably had to sing this song hundreds of thousands of times in her life. I wonder if musicians get really tired of performing their hits over and over again. Still looks good, though.
Well, I'm not a pro (but I have been paid to play) and I got tired of playing some songs at maybe the 3rd gig we played them... of others after the 5th gig or so. I think it's a very individual thing and it depends a lot on what the song means to you at the very moment of performing. And don't forget: before you play the song to an audience for the first time, you have already played it dozens of times at rehearsal.
YTOnceAgain I'm not a musician but I've done a variety of stage performances and after a few times you know what you're doing so well that you can go into a zone where you get to feel it more than think about it -- it's like going for a run or driving to work, you're doing it but you don't notice it. Also, the audience brings its own energy and that can be refreshing.
Why ? They probably love playing it to their fans.. as long as the fans give back energy. The Rolling Stones have played their songs a million times, but still love to perform.
I don't know why so many people say Lita is a bitch. She's not at all. She's honest and friendly, and unlike Cherie- is not a fickle backstabber. I liked Cherie and still enjoy watching her, but after some personal dealings with her, I can tell you she's the problem- NOT Lita. And people may not like what Lita has said over the years, but like it or not, she says THE TRUTH- unlike Cherie, who lies and manipulates to get what she wants. She will turn on people in a flash, whereas Lita has loyalty. I've said it before, but I'll say it again: Joan chose the wrong one to try to befriend again; it's Lita Joan should have stuck with all along.
2013 and she still looks great, sings great and has the swagger!! despite the drugs and all the shit that happened when she was younger. Wow awesome talent Cherie xxx
She still got the voice...but would be interesting if she can ever pull it off with the same apparel she wore in the old music video..rockin' body & all😉
Superb performance , that is what you call a REAL yummy mummy (as we say in England), still has it after all these years. Age will never take from attitude like this.
Cherie Currie is what both Anacreon in 600 BC, and Bob Dylan in 1974 meant by Forever Young. This concert proves it "beyond any reasonable doubt" and zest beyond any reason.
This is cool, and they were fun when I was a young one -- I am 61 now. Saw them a number of times in late 70s: Whiskey, Santa Monica Civic, and I believe the Golden Bear in HB.
