Whatevs, dude. I don't know what you mean by that Cherie Trumpette Curry reference in parenthesis. And by the way, you spelled her name wrong. I will leave you alone; you're just out to fuss.
+*a*./, fuck off, your the one who is slow, I can tell by your first comment just how dumb you are, fuck off you've lost this argument, at least smile4smiles is being Civil and Diplomatic. I take it you are not very good at arguing are you? I meet plenty of people like you in Pub's/Bar's/Clubs and they all leave with a black eye or think lip.
A few things. Yes, its already been said...choosing a track that Cherie was not even on, to play right when they introduce Cherie...awful. She handled it gracefully though (didn't say anything). Beyond that....i like how the Australian interviewers were warmly greeted by Cherie, like they were friends. The interviewers asked decent questions - they weren't the stock lame "q's" that usually get asked and they seemed to 'get' Cherie. You don't often see that in interviews. Maybe not the best interview in the whole world, but at least there seemed to be some rapport there. Props to the Aussies ? (!) :)
*Joan jett sung school days... These hosts are a joke 😂...literally so embarrassed.... Love Joan jett but if there going to interview Cherrie.. At least get a song that she sung*
This interview doesn't seem well-researched. Aside from the 'School Days' awkwardness, every other interview I've seen with Cherie Currie, the interviewer always knows that she's a chainsaw artist. It's a pretty unique occupation, it's surprising they weren't told by their producers in advance.
Scott yes Susie Quatro did but the actual first all female ROCK GROUP was FANNY! Look them up! And of Course Heart led by Ann and Nancy Wilson were much better than The Runaways but also had men in the group. Same thing of course with Fleetwood Mac.
Why would they play School Days when Cherie had left the band and didn't even sing that song? The hosts / producers of this show didn't know squat about the Runaways.
That WAS embarrassing them playing School Days with Joan Jett on lead! It's like SHIT do your research you CRAZY Aussies!!!! Play clips of Cherie Currie singing!!!! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
@@sabinesabine7031 powerhouse, besides, Jupiter is the planet of good fortune. So she is a queen, so far she would be the best president the united states ever had.
Not correct. No JOAN JETT, no RUNAWAYS!!! JJ & Sandy West founded the Runaways with the help from Kim Fowley. I still have press releases from the seventies.
Your press releases from the seventies do not tell the real story. In order for the Runaways to be taken seriously and get a recording contract, they needed a legitimate lead guitarist. Lita was the key to the whole thing. They could have made no headway without Lita's guitar. In the beginning, JJ was a backup singer and rhythm guitarist. That's it. Later, after Cherie left, the band was on a slippery slope to Nowheresville and disintegrated. In order for JJ to make it as a solo, she needed two things: (1) An all-male backup band (The Blackhearts) and (2) Other people's hit song to cover because she had nothing of her own to offer. Does that help?
Um, was BAD REPUTATION a cover? Was YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'VE GOT? Was FAKE FRIENDS a cover? How about her catchy LOVE IS PAIN song, was that a cover too? No. And Joan either wrote or co-wrote all of them and more! And yes she does covers too- which often are better than the originals, so yay her!
None of the tunes you mention were hits with the possible exception of Bad Rep. All her hits were covers. In fact, her biggest selling album was called the "Hit List" which were all covers. She couldn't hold Lita's guitar pick the best day she ever had. You've been had.
Dude, it's not a competition. I've got no issue with Lita. Sure, she was the better musician, so what? Joan herself has no trouble admitting that she is not a lead guitarist type like Lita, and that she's fine with that. As for Joan's songs, even if they weren't all hits, it doesn't mean they aren't very good songs- which they are! And, as I said, I'm kinda glad Joan chose to do the covers she chose, because she improved on the originals, in most cases.
Doesn't make any difference about the video they played in the background. The media cares less about accuracy and 99 percent of the audience would not know anyway. That's show biz.
it took more than lita it took all joan lita and cherie they rodked then like there was no tomorrow and opened alot of doors thank you runaways you are all importent
Well, The Rolling Stones are still kicking ass, ...I don’t see why The Runaways can’t kick theirs!...HA HA! ( Why not? Lol)...the Runaways where/are a kick ass band!....LETS DO IT!
please stop trying to sell "the runaways" as being about MUSIC! they were all about 5 sexy jailbait girls strutting around. nobody was into the runaways for the alleged "music". get real everybody!!!
First of all Paul, you know nothing about the Runaways music, which THEY were serious about, as well the performing. I knew them through a photographer and promoter, saw them many times around the L.A. area. Sure, it may have started as a gimmick, but there was a huge need for a band like theirs, especially for the ladies. They no longer were the groupies and hangers-on, they were the LEADERS for once. I defy you to see their old videos and tell us they were not good musicians. In fact, even for their lack of years, the rock musicianship is amazing. Oh, and the jailbait thing? That's called showbiz. The girls dealt with the crazy times of the 70's as best they could. They put on a great show.
Well Paul that's YOUR opinion. I thought they were hot bitches AND I liked the music too! They wouldn't have been able to tour on "looks alone". That only carries you so far.
@paul kersey ' ' they were all about 5 sexy jailbait girls strutting around. nobody was into the runaways for the alleged "music". ' ' Wow, assuming a lot about millions of fans you don't know. I think you knew your opinion was going to be unpopular, so you tried to hide that fact with an imaginary scenario where millions of fans only like the band for their looks, and thus millions of fans are in imaginary agreement with you. Bravo.
A rather narrow and inaccurate observation. It's like saying The Beatles only made it, because they were handsome. Of course The Runaways were cute, but they were decent, rocking musicians and they did take it seriously. Ok, they weren't The Beatles, musically, but not many were/ are. Still, those gals helped light the lane, and they rocked!
cherie is such a square now. she brings up her son twice when no one was asking about him. Well most older people become squares so this is nothing new.
