Recently I shared this video with my chemistry teacher because we’re going over nuclear chemistry and she LOVES this video. She plans on editing some of the cursing out😭 and showing it to her future classes. She loves how informative the video is and she’s super interested in you guys.

I am thinking about the people in the Ukraine today as their country is being attacked. But the one person I’m worried about is Babushka. The news is saying that Russia wants control over Chernobyl. All I can think about is this little old lady with no news of what’s going on and no way to leave to get to safety. I really hope she will be okay along with everyone else in the Ukraine.

honest opinion, overall this whole chernobyl/ukraine series has really taught me a lot about how good people can be and what sometimes has to be done in life when there’s nothing you can do about it. this series literally changed the way i will look at such things because of you guys. it’s just an interesting topic if you learn more about it and try to dig deeper into it. this was a great experience, thank you.

Sam and Colby have lifted my view on people, I used to feel like I hated everyone and everything because everyone only shows the bad, yes this is bad but they also talk a lot about how the heroes here are just so- I just can’t describe it. It’s wonderful and I’m sad I have just learned about this now.

Seeing Sam start to cry because of the loneliness of the babushkas made me so sad. It just proves how much he cares and how much of an impact the babushkas stories had on him and the others, how much their lives and how they live had on them. Considering these guys are usually pretty big jokers I love how heartfelt this video was, they all seemed so genuinely interested and respectful of the town and everyone and everything there. They were so willing to learn and show an interest in the people they met and their personal experiences from the day of the accident and how their lives were affected. It really puts it into perspective just how good we have it. It shows how we need to not take anything for granted and live everyday being grateful for the small things because it can literally be taken away in the blink of an eye. Thank you so much Sam, Colby, and Nate for making such an amazing documentary on the history of Chernobyl.

Sam and Colby, I’m a 69 yr. Old grandmother. That video was very good!! You should be very proud of it!! You showed the devastation and yet at the very least, a glimmer of happiness and hope !!! My youngest daughter was born April 9th, 1986. I absolutely remember the fear that I went through as the mother of a newborn baby!! I had a 13 yr. old daughter too that I worried about!! It was a very scary time for the whole entire world, but especially the Ukrainian’s!! Thank you for telling their story with so much compassion and class!! Again, you should be proud of this video!!

It irritates me that this is amongst your lowest viewed videos. This was a major historical event, that changed the lives of so many, cost the lives of so many, and yet still in actuality, little is generally known about what actually happened. This video is so educational, informative and interesting. Just because there’s no rempods and EVPs, and basically not haunted related, doesn’t make this one of the greatest pieces of content ever made about a historical disaster. I found it incredible, learned so much, and mostly found the people who live and work there truly welcoming and kind people. They lived through this, have to be traumatised, but tell their personal stories openly. Their resilience is remarkable. This should have way more views and way more likes. Guess all the folks want is ‘ghost’ stuff, not a well put together, well edited, and super informational piece of content, that in truth, many people would have been too scared to ever visit - obviously now with the war in Ukraine 🇺🇦 it’s not an option, due to the high levels of radiation. Also no, I do not believe until proven otherwise that this visit caused Colby’s cancer - congratulations on beating the beast Colby. They’re clearly very careful and protective of their visitors. Sorry no Shadow Man appeared in reactor 4, that would likely have brought in the few million more views and number of likes you typically get. This deserved it.

Agreed. This is the video I rewatch the most out of all of theirs because it's SO well done and incredibly emotional. Like this is genuinely one of, if not their best, video/series. It hits just as hard every time I watch it, and I'm on my fourth or fifth rewatch. Honestly, as much as I love their paranormal stuff, I wish they'd visit more places like this. They seemed to be really in their element learning about people's stories and exploring such a historic place. You can tell this fed their souls creatively and emotionally, more than any of the haunted places have.

Also, anyone else concerned that this guy says “I’ve seen deformed eyes, and more cases of cancers” and then not even a year later Colby discovers he has testicular cancer 🫣 really makes you worried, it seems like people who aren’t around a lot of radiation seem to have a much more drastic reaction to being around a sudden increase in radiation, which is why their trusty guide who has been doing this his whole life is perfectly fine, but someone from an environment with low radiation levels goes to Chernobyl it can mess with them more than the average person.

Hi guys! Ukrainian girl here, been watching you for couple of months. I was very sad when I heard about Colby's cancer, hope he'll never endure this again and wish you guys all the best. I'm 27 yo, didn't catch the years of explosion but my whole life we've been told about this accident and each year we pay tribute to those who was affected by the tragedy. I was so glad when i found this video, my love and respect to you plummeted. Thank you for your job! I also was very happy that Misha spoke Ukrainian, to us Ukrainians, now fighting for our freedom this means a lot. I understand your feelings when you spoke about not completely understanding the capacity of the tragedy, the impact of it and so on. As we all don't understand it right now because of war, so tired of things happening to our beautiful country. Propaganda is like tumor it's cruel and spreads very slowly, so don't let it darken your thoughts. I wish I could show all the people the pain they brought to us ((( we are not near front line but from time to time we get attacked by rockets and drons, the last week was especially difficult, our city was under attack because of the grain deal, they cannot accept that Europian countries want to export our grain to feed the world and to let our country work without their permission. So many places were destroyed, the city centre, the ports infrastructure, several people died and got injured. We didn't sleep all week, i had to grab my child and cat and run to the parking under our house in the middle of the night. And the noises you hear, everything blowing up(( and yesterday i got news that my classmate died being in coma after the attack on them in front line.

Gentlemen, as someone who is nearly twice your age I've read and watched a lot of material on the Chernobyl disaster, and your film is one of the most insightful views on what life is like for the people who lived, died, and thrive in the zone that I've ever seen. It also strikes me that perhaps what you thought you went there to see wasn't exactly what you were most fond of once you got there. I've traveled this world quite a bit, and I've learned that kids are kids everywhere, and Grandmothers are certainly Grandmothers no matter where in the world you go. What a blessing for the three of you to have visited them. Looks like it's made you wiser for it. Vladymir continues to be a living testament to those who sacrificed their lives and their well being to save their fellows. Mischa has a very unique perspective of what life was like before and after that few men his age can ever see. Well done, gentlemen. A very powerful film and perspective, especially from folks your age. I enjoyed it.

Sam is so kindhearted he was crying when he heard the tragic loneliness for these people and the many ways it affected the people there in Chernobyl! I feel so bad for the elderly especially because imagine the struggle of traveling them for them and others that try to help. Appreciate the small things that you have and be thankful you have the stuff you do! Sam and Colby helped me at my lowest, always making me inspired,smile,laugh, and cry sometimes. What a sad, yet such an important video that every one should watch. I have a close friend who lived in the small village of Paryshiv right outside of Pryp'yat when she was 16, when the Chernobyl tragedy occurred. She moved to the USA (yes legally) 10 years later. 10 years after coming tovthe USA she gave birth. The radiation effected her eggs, so both her twins were born with physical deformities and learning disabilities.

I’m late to this, but can we just give a big bunch of likes to Mischa (I hope I spelled that correctly)? What an amazing tour guide with the most incredible English language talent. He seems like such an awesome guy to hang out with, kept them all safe, whilst keeping them informed and giving them all the best experience of Pripyat. I’m calling it that as that’s the name of the town that has been taken over by the name of a terrible disaster. Plus, the Babuskas. They were just so kind and giving. Imagine thinking of making french fries as she knew 3 young men from the US were visiting her? All whilst showing off her incredible produce, but what a thoughtful thing to do. I have a Babushka doll, which I now look at with disappointment- I’d like a real one please. What great people everyone they met on this trip were.

To me, this entire series has changed my outlook on life. The fact that a single accident can change so many lives in an instant is honestly just sad, and scary. Thank you guys for making videos on Chernobyl and its stories. What the residents had to go through was horrible, but we can all agree that we are all so thankful to the people who helped stop this disaster from spreading any further. Wow, I was 13 when this happened. Even in Canada there was talk/worry about the effects of the radiation. You know, would it come here, kind of thing. Vladimir and the people of that reactor are hero’s. I still live within 15 kilometres of a nuclear power plant and I also have iodine tablets if there is ever an emergency. Also there is a second plant probably 20-25 kilometres away from this one. On December 8th, 2020 during a routine safety exercise, an employee hit the public alarm. So that all the emergency alarms went off. Our phones and tv stations were broadcasting that the plant was having an emergency. That was terrifying. This video brings me to tears. Thank you for spotlighting all the ones who didn’t get the recognition they deserved.

@@meganlott4703 I think securing Chernobyl was more of a preventative measure to ensure that there was no battlefront within the exclusion zone. If they met resistance there and did end up shelling the place, they risk a whole lot more than their reputation in world standing.

This genuinely moved me to tears. The way the babushka's kept going back to their families, and seeing the sadness in their eyes was hard, but reminds me to live freely and truly in the moment. You can have everything stripped from you in a second, so cherish it while you can. My prayers go to every Ukrainian, especially during this horrific tragedy of war

And the sweet grandmas they were giving out such an amazing energy even though their days are mostly work but i feel like they actually do enjoy their jobs and the time they have left.

Oh most definitely. You may not see us or hear about it a lot, but there are a ton of us that are interested in your culture and have researched the hell out of Chernobyl. I just finished watching the HBO series with my parents last night, actually. It's disgusting how the government tried covering it up due to their absolute arrogance. wow. this a beautifully done documentary and deserves WAYYY more attention. i had no idea about chernobyl so it was very interesting to learn about it. i’m upset that schools in my state don’t cover this topic. i shed many tears. there are so many heroes that have not received the recognition and love that they rightfully deserve. i feel so lucky and blessed for the life i am given. and i will not take advantage of it. sending love and hugs to all families and people affected by this disaster ❤🙏🏼

Them puppies are way too cute, I'd struggle leaving them there. Loved seeing this side of Nate, the intellectual and pensive moment. Seeing Sam walking around playing with his hair before staring to talk, I knew it was gonna be a real talk moment. I read in other comment sections of other RU-vid videos about Chernobyl that many people had to leave their pets behind, and that eventually they would be killed as they had absorbed a lot of radiation. So yeah seeing those little dogs really broke my heart too. But I did see in the beginning a snippet of a man with his dog in one of the buses @1:44 so maybe some were spare. 😢

I’m Ukrainian and my parents actually lived in a small village 200 miles away from Chernobyl and Pripyat when it happened before they immigrated to the US and this video made me extremely emotional. Seeing Sam and Colby immersed in my own culture and appreciating it makes me so unbelievably happy. Thank you for all of it 💖💖 I love all the paranormal videos but this video hit so close to my heart and home.

My history teacher let us do presentations about stuff like that so it was perfect opportunity to dig out info and also talk with parents about what they remember (I'm Lithuanian tho, but still, one of the affected countries). And chemistry teacher also talked about Chernobyl when we studied radioactivity. It was one hell of an interesting lessons I had.

As someone who was a kid when Chernobyl happened, and remembering asking my dad if we would die from the acid rain and fallout that blew around the world...... this was the most powerful documentary on the horror and reality of what happened. Thank you for being the voice for these stories and for even just wondering about history and how it affects our daily life still (especially how it SHOULD BE affecting our lives still)!! As an x-ray technologist of almost 15 years, I wanted to say what an eye opening video you made. A lot of people don't realize the depth of what happened at the Chernobyl plant and how it affected all of us in one way or another. The discoveries made by the disaster shed light on the dangers of radiation and allowed for greater measures to be taken in radiology protection still evident today. In the scientific sense it allowed for technology to protect patients, radiation workers like myself and the public in a greater way. Thank you for this movie and breaking down what happened in a simple way so more people can understand the gravity of the situation. Keep up the great work guys!

We briefly went over it in history and in science when we were covering Russian Revolution and Renewable and Non Renewable energy sources. Also, I learned about chernobyl after they released a horror movie about it years ago and my teacher was talking about it. It was called Chernobyl Diaries.

Nate is an intelligent guy. It was pretty cool that he was on this trip to help explain what happened. More people need to be educated about what happened at Chernobyl (and also at 3 Mile Island). This all heppened when i was a kid. I remember hearing about it back then but had no idea what actually happened and rhe sacrifices rhat so many made after it happened.

This is probably one of the most realistic and emotional series from Sam And Colby, besides the Shadow Man series. Both of those series were a real eye opener for me and I saw the boys in a more vulnerable state than usual. watching this and having no previous knowledge at all on Chernobyl is heart breaking. my mom was born January 6thth, 1987. my grandma was actually 24 years old haha (very coincidental). It broke my heart completely to see people alone but not alone. I knew nothing completely about Chernobyl until this video. It truly taught me to genuinely live in the moment. because within a snap, everything could be gone. It's truly upsetting to know that within a second, the same thing that happened there could happen anywhere. Not exactly of course, but it still could happen anywhere in the world. its upsetting knowing that something could happen one second and the next, your town becomes a ghost town. it becomes enraged in flames. one second is all it takes for the life you've made for yourself, to flip upside down.

Guys I LOVED this video. Very informative and the research you guys did prior and during your visit was incredible. This was very intense and emotional. I can only imagine how you felt being there. You tought me so much about the Chernobyl disaster I never knew 80 percent of it. Really didn't learn much about it in school and most of what was told was not ALL of it. You guys really touched me in this one. I cried, I laughed, then cried again. You certainly do an awesome job with your videos. PLEASE make more like this. The kids now a days need education and need to be taught the way you teach. It would certainly grab the full attention of every student who normally gets bored in class and don't pay attention. Keep doing what you do. I APPRECIATE what you showed me in this video. And I want to thank you. Had I not watched this, I would have never known any of it. And it would most likely not been something that I would have came across and learned about on my own. seeing Sam cry and even listening to everyone's stories genuinely broke my heart... Hopefully nothing like this ever happens again.

As someone who never learned about Chernobyl in school, this video taught me so much that I did not know about. I never knew anything about it to the point where people would say “Chernobyl” and I would ask, what’s that? This video was very eye opening, hearing the babushkas talk about their life experiences and what they do now, it’s all so touching. Thank you

why didn't we get the privilege of learning this in school. I just learned one of the biggest historic events in 2 hours. But it took two weeks to learn about the guy who created ford...

Because ur generation is being taught how boys can be girls. How everyone's racist....how our history is all bad....they don't teach u guys. U were indoctrinated.....😅
