Some history of the Slaves of America, and the contact they had with Native American Nations (Tribes). This is a misunderstood culture and lost identity within America and Reservations today. The Native American Indians before white blood was mixed within them, were a dark skin people. The true Native American Indians have a lost identity in America, and even within Reservations today. The race Black and the color Black (Dark Brown) are TWO DIFFERENT MEANINGS.

1:53 This video is disingenuous, because it negates the fact that not all African Americans on Cherokee reservations were runaways. MANY were OWNED as SLAVES by the Cherokee Indians. Tell the whole truth: Native Americans owned slaves too. This is why the Cherokee Freedmen exist and why many are still fighting the Cherokee Nation for their rights to this day.

Black freedman were dis enrolled by the Cherokee Nation because they changed their laws about blood quantum and became really strict! There is a museum for and about them. But they will probably to no good end continue to struggle for their place among the people. And it will probably never happen. Because now for rights you must Individually have a blood quantum of so much to even be excepted and given status. And even with status if you don’t have a place on the Rez you don’t get shit! And most blacks that claim to be Cherokee have so little blood that it honestly doesn’t matter anyway. Because sadly race is still a big thing on the Rez. And if you don’t have enough blood or even look enough the part, you will not be treated like you are of the people!

They changed their laws on blood quantum and became very very strict! So for status and benefits, and individual must have so much blood to be recognized. And most blacks with actual indigenous Cherokee blood still alive today is gonna have so little blood they would not be recognized by the nation. @@continentalx whatever you thought this reply was, it’s not it. We’re talking about a group of people who wanted to be white so bad that they decide to enslave Black folks to seem more civilized. Do you think this is black folks forcing their way in or were they forced in by the natives? Based on what I am hearing and learning on history, Every last one of them is going straight to hell. Not only did the indigenous get reparations and land, but they also give their tribal kids a shit ton of money when they turn 18… which they typically got from opening and holding casinos on the land GIVEN to them. What is it that was given to the Negroes after 400+ years of unethical torture? Was it reparations? was it land? Fuck no. What we got afterwards was racial segregation and Civil War waged against us. And you’ll never guess who joined in on that Civil War to keep their slaves... you guessed it. Do you wanna voluntarily step in that role? Fuck no you don’t and I bet you know why. And I’m a loan officer who constantly gets calls from Natives from VARIOUS tribes across this nation who have proven their paystubs of $600,000 annual income yet are still begging for loans. I have worked in this business for about 7 years now… I’m still shocked to this day. I also aged out of foster care with about 30 kids and met several other indigenous kids from various tribes from AZ, NM who ALL received $100,000 or more upon turning 18. And they were bragging about it, too. I was pretty jealous, tbh. That particular tribe isn’t even well known where I live and yet still receive those benefits. My Great grandmother was full Cherokee. I identify more with this and my African American roots for one simple reason... They are closer to me. White commentators here are pretty shameful to tell us what we can't and can identify with when you guys do so much cultural appropriation. The thing is, we (African Americans) mostly come from a long line of slavery. This involved rape, separation, and a lot of people "missing". The hardships we faced in America and the culture we created here are much closer to us than the ones in Africa. This is why we are now known as Black or Black Americans, because we realized that we were calling ourselves African American when most of us had no ties to Africa in the last several centuries. Don't get me wrong, we love African culture too, but the thing is, even with the use of Ancestry.com, finding out which slave went where and came from which ship and what their role was in which country is hard to find. We were mere cargo after all. I've gone to several pow wows and was sung Black and Cherokee spirituals while growing up. This is what I identify with. These are the things that I hold dear.

It would mean not only your matriarchal as well as paternal have roots, but, don't forget Native Americans follow the female line because back then if a man from say Navajo married a Sioux he would have to leave his family and go to hers and become one of them they quit ties as far as the children they stayed in their mother's tribe my heritage is Cherokee and most Cherokee migrated from Tallaqua area as they moved north to that was when yhey could move freely so check those out too.

Oh but it is how these Black people became associated and mixed with the Cherokee. In their attempt to emulate southern white Antebellum society, many wealthy Cherokee, who by the early 19th century were of both indigenous and European heritage took to owning plantations as well as Black slaves. At the time of their removal to Indian Territory they took these slaves with them. It's the Cherokee who are mixed European that want to exile the Cherokee who are mixed with African.

This video is nice but a lot is missing. The "five civilized tribes" owned black slaves who were accepted into the tribes after the Civil War. Many Cherokee fought for the South. The term Buffalo Soldier was coined by the Comanche tribe who fought against black regiments post Civil War. The Comanche called them that because they thought their hair resembled that of an American Bison. They were thought of as bad medicine by the Comanche. Full blood natives don't look like black people.

Im from Oklahoma and one of the issues that really upset me is the argument amongst the descendents of the indigenous and the slaves about who is native and who are the so called african slaves! The so called white man has oppressed us all!! Enslaved, rap, murdered and stole from all of our ancestors!! The theif comes to kill, steal, and destroy; St. John 10:10. The only thing that really divides us is the "gift" that the so called indigenous people accepted from the white man. Which in turn was never reparations. How are you going to "gift" something that was never yours in the first place!! Wake up people!!!😤😤😤😤

Thank you for making this video. Very informative. My husband is part Plains Cherokee on his dad's side. He qualifies for a blue card but doesn't want one simply because he has no real upbringing in the culture and thinks this would make him look like a wannabe. He has blonde hair and blue eyes but some of the Cherokee features and can go a week without shaving. (How many hairy Indians are out there?) Interesting about slaves hiding out in the reservations, but it makes sense. Unfortunately my father-in-law didn't talk about his Cherokee side. It was very hush-hush in his family.

That don't support the Blacks being "Down With The Brown" unity myth though....LOL...meanwhile Latino cops shoot a Black man just as quick as White...they aint fucking around on the streets and know whats up. In fact, a White man might hesitate in fear of shooting a Black man hoping that their actions don't get judged...but Latino cops don't hesitate. Why would they? Because there is suppose to be some Black/ Brown bond? LOL...its all bullshit that we like each other anyways.

This is so far from historically accurate, it's hilarious! First off, Blacks didn't hide out on Cherokee reservations, they were brought there by Cherokee slave owners, (That's right Cherokees owned slaves, as well as fought for the south) The picture at 2:24 is an actual photo of an Indian with his slave. Blacks were dis enrolled because the Cherokee Nation got strict about it's Bloodlines, and Blacks were only members because they felt entitled to Cherokee benefits because the Cherokee were allowed to take their slaves on the Trail of Tears, so the Cherokee Nation acknowledges that Hardships give you NO entitlement to bloodline benefits or acknowledgement of lineage. This is all common History, too inconvenient to teach in school, but these Black Narratives are soooo far off the truth that it's laughable. These narratives play on the ignorant, too lazy to fact check.

Well, some did hide according to historical accounts but not most. Many wannabes use that story as an excuse of not having proof of their Cherokee lineage or a CDIB card. Some even go as far as to say their grandma was "ashamed" to be Indian. If that was the case, then none of their descendants deserve to be Indian either.

Why in reports of early explorers/ Paintings of early Foreigners and diaries. The American Indians are portrayed as people that don't look like the people We call Native american today? Why is Native american a new term? Why in paintings on Americans the people were very Dark skin and small tines even had what's considered to be Afrros? What happened to all the darker skin American Indians that weren't able to get the Land from the federal government? Or weren't able to get on any lists as Recorded American Indians? What happened to the American Indians that were reclassified as Black and Negro, Colored and African American? Why do the people today saying they are American Indians and accepted NY the government as such, why are they so Caucasian looking? Chinese looking but not at all looking like the description of the different Indians found here? Why people like Joseph Smith Believe and teach that Ameican Indians were cursed with Black skin for some sin against his Christian God? How come when you read about some of the history and Government underhanded dealings and reclassification of American Indians it doesn't match up with the people claiming to be Americans now? How could you look MOSTLY like the colonizers yet at the same time claim to be the person at Home here in America?

Some native American tribes also sided with the Confederacy during the Civil War, because they did not want to lose their right to own slaves. The Confederate aligned tribes were under the leadership of the Cherokee chief, Stand Watie. This Cherokee chief was a proponent of slavery and owned slaves himself. People of EVERY skin colour do, and have done, horrors to each other, to their OWN as well as to other groups: First Nations Peoples, Black Africans, Europeans, Indians, Chinese. Nobody can say, "My genes make me "better" or more "pure" than your genes." That is (racist) BS! Sly Stone said, "We got to live TOGETHER!" (Here... and NOW!) That's all we GOT! I feel sorry for a number of my Black brothers and sisters who have been fooled by RU-vid hustlers and con men like Dane Calloway and others. These con men know that a lot of uneducated people and people suffering from low self-esteem have an identity crisis. They tell these people that they are the Native Americans and that they've always been here. These wannabes already are ashamed of themselves and do not want to be who they truly are. So they grab on to a lie with both hands. Myself, I'm proud to be of African blood. The shame goes to those who enslaved others, not the ones who were held in slavery. These RU-vid hustlers create controversy for the sake of likes and subscribe. There's a group of flat earthers that do the same thing. Con men are aware that some people need to believe in a mystical secret, so these con men prey on weak minds. There's one such con man who has gotten a gathering of believers simply by saying that Stevie Wonder is not really blind. Still, another has a following from saying "Michelle Obama is actually a man in drag. Here's a kicker. There's one group that believes that each race of man comes from a different planet.

The new Black American race was BORN here due to the mixture of races. On top of that, some Black Americans do have Native blood. This is where we're for and been from 500 years. We're not from Africa or Europe as our ancestors were.
