As a South African watching this I just wanted to say you guys look AWESOME!! Always found your culture both fascinating, and beautiful. The dignity you carry even after all the injustices you have suffered is a testament to your strength. Blessings to you.
Indeed , the Americas disappointed me as I have matured and educated my soul and spirit. Too many sacrifices, injustices, and thrives, and " they" dare ask why why our lands and people are for generations angry, depressed, still living in poverty. How dare "they" !!
I am part German & Cherokee Indian...I have always respected my Cherokee elders, & was proud to hold onto my Cherokee Heritage & beliefs. May God bless our Cherokee Nation..! ❤❤
my great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee.. she was very Beautiful and had a long life to live at 106 years of age.. mom and grand ma and aunt.. look a lot like her and they had a lot to say about her..!! i am part Cherokee. I wished I could have met her!!!
I am Cherokee mix. I will never show disrespect to my elders or traditional ways. I dance with pride and courage to stand for my beliefs. I am a disabled Native American Veteran and so proud. May the Creator bless you all.
I’m Scandinavian and for some reason I can’t help but notice the similarities between ancient Celtic/Nordic cultures have with native tribes. The picts and the Briton’s and angles and the saxons and the Danes and the Norse all ancient peoples with similar roots. Never forget that it wasn’t Columbus who discovered America, it a Norwegian man named Leif Erickson. Over 1000 years before Columbus. Look at Stonehenge and other places like that. Serpent mound in America and Cahokia a major city over 5,000 years Native American tribes were extremely proficient hunters craftsmen and traders, most got along well with Norse although of course there was some raiding and fighting from both sides. I believe we are all a lot more similar than anyone knows and that’s what keeps us all divided.
Me too!!! I'm in Western NC where this takes place. And our ancestors in the region are the Cherokee Indians. The Scottish settled here too. I love my ancestors from both sides. 😍 They're All Such Beautiful people ❤️
as Part Cherokee myself.. this is Beautiful!!! My great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee! I was told she was a lovely woman and very strong soul!!!
My great grandma was half Cherokee and you can see it in pictures. Her eyes always said so much more than her words did. Even at 92 when she passed, she carried herself as tall and proud as her aching bones let her. She was beautiful. She married a full blooded Irishman, so you can imagine the tempers that run through my family…but the passion, too!
Just beautiful ❤️ o-si-yo! My family💯🦅 Eastern Band and Western band together and over 50 Nations in this Grand Entry of the Cherokee Powwow! ❤️ I'm so honored to have been there when the Eastern and Western Band met for the first time in over 150 years! Beautiful Traditional regalia and dancing and drums and chants! I still feel it 💗
@@hemmy1975 Wow 👌 Awesome 👌 Please enjoy and give everyone my Special regards. It would be nice if you kept track of this post, saved it somewhere, and returned telling me of your experience? Enjoy
Miss going to these, they're so much fun! When I went to them was in the 90's when I was a kid, but still love Pow Wow's! My dad has Cherokee on his side and my mom has Cree and Potowatomi on her side. I have good memories of going to Pow Wow's when I was a kid and still love learning about Native American culture's. My family, our neighbor's, and me would make stuff like choker's, bracelet's, earring's, etc and would sell them at the Pow Wow's we went to. We would even watch the dancer's and just enjoy the whole trip. These video's bring back great memories for me
I am Australian, and this makes me emotional! The “Indian Nations” of America, are absolutely incredible! Their history and valour is awesome! Long. live the Indian Nations of America!I wishI was more educated In their history!
Pat Smith They are , thank goodness, very strong. Many tribes remaining around here in northern "New Mexico" have taken back their original tribal names. Have been blessed to spend time learning from some tribal elders. There is a group of 13 Indigenous "Grandmothers", (wise elders and prayer warriors) stretching from here all the way to New Zealand A few times had the honor of being in their midst. Can find a lot here on youtube to help with "education".
@@luisamarie9387 Yes they are! They are the traditional owners of this land and their history goes back at least four thousand years and probably more.! They pass on their history by word of mouth and they have a rich culture! Their dances and song are extremely beautiful! I wish I could express it in a more exciting way, all I can say is that the Aboriginal Race are awesome!
Do your research, the reality is far from what we Americans have been taught. These people have been here for 15000 to 20000 years. Genocide, murder, rape, "stealing"of land known as hunting grounds, and yes, slavery, practiced by all tribes from the Arctic Circle to Tierra del Fuego was taking place the entire time yet narrative of all those atrocities doesn't start till European contact. Are we to believe that all of that bullshit is okay if its done by people with the same color skin?
A blessing from Sky father and Mother Earth...the "Standing People " even wave gently to salute n show respect for the ( Eagle flag) n our Veteran Warriors...Aho!!! Wado!!! A grand ... Grand entry!!! 👍🐾🐺🧙♂️🐺🐾👍!!!
*THIS right here is the rightful history of America.* They were here living their lives and making it work until evil showed up and to this day is still at work trying keep these people down. My people are from Choctaw County Oklahoma and the stories they tell are heartbreaking. *So good to see this positive representation of the true Native here in America.*
I'm from the Enoch Cree Nation and although some white people were evil, they brought the Word of God to our shores which was His intention before the end times, that all tribes, races and tongues have a chance to hear the gospel. We can't blame one race for evil peoples actions and there are evil people among every color. It was meant to happen and we as a racial group passed the test of power and the test of meekness. Thats why we were one of the last lands on earth to be discovered, we had all those thousands of years by ourselves and with our Creator, then He brought knowledge of Jesus since we were separated by land before He came and didn't hear the news of His coming.
You do realize that the tribes we constantly at war, took slaves and some even practiced cannibalism (Iroquois) well before the Europeans showed up? Mayans had festivals where they would sacrifice upwards of 80K people in a matter of days to satiate the gods. These sacrifices were usually slaves that had been captured or slaves that they purchased. So, no, these weren’t peace loving and all getting along before the “white man” showed up. Skin color doesn’t make one evil. If it does, you should include yourself because of your bigoted statement. Probably just a woke idiot that has never opened a damn book.
@@ivandrago1133 i looked to see if their was canadian pyramids too and human sacrifice, in the canadian shield area there was a tribe that had art that depicted human sacrifice and blood games, that tribe has disappeared just like the bible said. All civilizations who practiced those things have disappeared en masse and their habitat destroyed. The same will happen to the entire world because of abortion which is modern day child sacrifice. But this wasn't the majority of tribes, our people had connection to Creator and He protected us, we weren't conquered by europeans, we mainly adapted to living with them and signed treaties to share the land, helped them fight wars, british, france etc
@@ivandrago1133 Government tried to destroy us afterward though through slow decimation but it didn't work and natives in canada are stronger today than ever as a group. Only the protection of God can do that, otherwise we would have been decimated to a greater degree. We don't consider mayans native american they are south american more like mexicans. But there are evil people in every race, evil controlled communities in every region. Natives were no different we are human too. But most of us werent evil , i think our social values (generally) kept us protected spiritually as well as compared to some other regions, races which seem to be predominantly bad in nature and practice, but God will always keep a remnant in every group that is from Him and not evil. So even those bad ones have diamons within. This is the pattern of human nature.
OHHHH MY DEAREST PEOPLE ..NO WORDS CAN EXPRESS HOW MOVED MY HEART AND SOUL ARE BY LISTENING, WATCHING AND JUST ENJOYING THE CHANTING, THE DRUMMING AND VOICES ..THANK YOU SO ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ MUCH.
The pride you carry brings tears to my eyes! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! The prayers in your mountains from your ceremony - THANK YOU FOR HOLDING STRONG, AND HOLDING THE PRAYER - for those who’ve become disconnected and our children for the next 7 generations!
My mother was half Cherokee. I have been learning the culture and trying to learn the language. This is so beautiful! I love it. The idea of more than 50 nations coming together for this powwow is incredible. I would love to attend in person.

I Love this my dad was Cherokee and my mom German,Irish. I've always loved this kind of dance and music. I would love to see this in real time it makes me feel really good almost like iam home.🥰
My grandmother’s grandmother was full blooded Cherokee. Granny gave me her cooking pot that she used over an open fire. She had married a man by the name of Hiram Tickle. This music stirs me in a way I cannot describe.
@@IrishAnnie You are 100% Native if your family was Cherokee. We don't do blood quantum here in Cherokee Nation. You wouldn't tell someone who is half black/ African American that they are not black/ African American. You are a full citizen of the Cherokee tribe, especially if you can prove your lineage and have a CDIB card.
I see you thank you God for Cherokee. A first grand daughter of a Hazard Kentucky Cecil full blooded too. I was raised in Miami burg, Ohio. Love you all 💖
@@carylemons8203 You tell Our people to Be careful plz. I just left a message. Love your sister from Hazard Kentucky Cherokee My mom's Dad. Cecil Bush. Hugs
As a cherokee...African decent beautiful job....I love how the traditions of the native people are being represented so our children and their children can still learn and grow with grace and love
It's so great to see the indigenous culture in its glory. Watching the young men and women dance in their beautiful clothing and headdresses is a rare gift indeed. Thank you.
Every powwow which I have been fortunate to attend, the grand entry is my favorite thing, gives me chills and even brings tears to my eyes. The military/warrior tribute of those who served and those who have died always touches my heart. 😢❤ edit: I am 3rd gen American, Irish/Scot and Euro mix. I feel my Celtic ancestry resonates across time and space.
I know that my great grandparents are natives. My great grandmother is Cherokee. But I've never been to a powwow. With all my heart ❤️ thank you for uploading this performances
@@IndigenousIndianLady65 I promise you that's a lie. My people didn't steal your ancestors identity. Some people think I'm an Indian even a Pacific Islander but I'm predominantly African American. You're talking about the colonial white immigrants who invaded this country.
My great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee from the eastern band in NC. This is just absolutely gorgeous. The regalia speaks for itself - simply awesome. I have been to a Lakota Sioux powwow, but never Cherokee. I plan to attend in 2023. Love the regalia of the jingle dancers.
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful video. I'm always struck by the beauty of the singing and dancing. The proud Earth Mama's inspire me so much. The little children being taught about their strong, spiritual culture. Please keep sharing 🙏 All my love and respect to you all from Ireland 🇮🇪 ❤ 🌻
This was a joy to watch! From the beautiful green hills to all the happy faces...and the two girls (women) that laughed kinda loud and looked as though they were fairly casual about it all...had to be family! Hehe!! If you think this is nice! Please find a sundance and pray with your ancestors in that way...no not everyone needs to be a sundancer!! We need supporters too! Are your ancestors calling to you thru those singers who drum? Wado!! If they are!! :)
On my 🎧 the 🥁 beats sounds 🔊 almost like a rave!!! I love this music! 8 yrs ago I watched Peter Pan for the 1st time and I liked the part where the natives are dancing and singing and playing the 🥁. Then I felt a need to search for a Pow Wow video. Watched a northern traditional and grass dance videos and got hooked! Every time I hear the drums I feel goosebumps (but the good kind) and a tingling sensation like I want to dance and shout out loud a pow wow/war cry and when I do, I start kinda like crip walking and it feels so good like if I knew how to dance to this!! 🤔 And I'm not native but it feels so chingon when I heard the beats, specially the ones they call "two starts"!? Kinda like these songs that were played in this video. I don't know if I got the right name. If not, somebody that knows please let me know. 👍🏼 👌🏼
@@missflyrightnow3507 sabes, jamás había pensado en eso. Pero me as puesto a pensar! Sería bueno buscar profundamente en mi arbol genealógico. Gracias por tu comentario. Saludos cordiales 👋🏼 y que Dios te bendiga siempre mujer. 🙏🏼
I was there I met the Mc in person my self . I am a spiritual deer dancer and they don’t allow non recognized tribes yet I’m representing the Mexica aztec tribe
That's okay sweetie there's a lot of tribes that certain ones don't recognize! But you know what and God's eye he knows who you are! Keep representing!

I would have loved to see this in person. My families background is Cherokee, crow and Blackfoot. But Irish churned into the mix and now all of us sadly don’t show our heritage, despite the fact I’m also Hispanic on my dads side. I’m proud to be part of this amazing culture if even in a small way.
