Definitely. The additive/harmonic selection lends itself to RMI-like sounds. But it's probably also some of my bias in choosing the harmonic samples and how I play them 😺
Came back to watch this again, as I've realised I haven't done enough with this synth yet. It's a great tutorial! Like others, I would like to see fine-tuning added to the harmonics so we could experiment with alternative tuning scales etc.
Even better if the chromatic scale, and therefore the underlying keyboard, could be set to a Scala tuning - even just a simple 12-note altered scale that could have notes in tune with some of the higher harmonics
Thanks for another great tutorial! What an interesting synth. I wish they had made the harmonics (partials) detunable… I was hoping that’s what the detune knob did!
Ah, that would have been very cool, as I am interested in inharmonic tunings and timbres! I'm guessing that would have added complexity to the interface that wanted to avoid - perhaps in a future update we'll see that option.
well done with this tutorial. i've been experimenting with harmonia. its a very quick path for complex sound design, as you noted. ❤ also loved your highlighting the jargon from CA. 😂
@@CatSynthTV Your comment inspired me. Today I went and set up my NDLR, Stepic and Launchpad 3 in Locrian D for an ACID jam session. It... did not go as bad as I had expected. Not great. However, no pets died as a result, though it did make the neighbour's baby cry.
Haha, nice! Locrian can be quite melodic when used well. I actually used it as the basis for at least one of the pieces in this live performance last year ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tEXv2tG8vds.html 😺🎶🎹
Does that lovely-looking keyboard have a Fatar keybed with poly Aftertouch? LOL Sorry, I meddle with you whilst watching. Tried to d'load before but their site was flagged. I am happy to see Cherry making something new. I have Reason's Parsec which I like and use a bit, but new takes on Additive are worth a looksee. This seems pretty robust for an initially simple interface. Nice design. :-)
