Back in 1953 a 3.7 km (2.3 mile) motor racing circuit was constructed around the outside of the swamp that is now Cherry Lake. In the winter of 1955 the circuit vanished underwater as the swamp became a deep lake. When the waters dropped, the circuit reappeared, and several meetings were held, but by early 1956 the circuit was so badly damaged that it was abandoned. There may be a slight possibility that some of the pedestrian pathway around Cherry Lake may be made up of the remains of the circuit.
@@imfilms8199 No problem - there are many places that were the sites of motor racing circuits, but now there is no physical remains to let anyone know that those circuits existed.
