This dive was organised by Adreno and Brisbane Scuba and was an absolutely mind-blowing experience! Both dive sites are located near Moreton Island, which is ~1.5h boat ride from Brisbane's bayside. Being probably the most remote dive sites in Brisbane area these reefs are rarely visited and are pristine and untouched.
𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘂𝗯𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 dive site is about 30 meters deep and offers an intricate network of caves and tunnels. The entrance to the main cave is adorned with stunning coral formations that are a sight to behold. As I finned my way through the labyrinthine passages, I encountered such a diverse range of marine life-moray eels, schools of neon tetras, huge sting rays and of course Grey Nurse Sharks! The play of light inside the caves is simply mesmerizing. Sunlight filters through openings in the cave roof, creating ethereal beams that illuminate the interior like a natural disco.
𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 Rock is the vibrant and colorful site on Henderson Reef. Situated at a more relaxed depth of 15-25 meters, this reef is a diver's paradise in terms of biodiversity. The site is a home for thick massive gorgonian fans, fields of soft corals in every color imaginable, and teeming schools of fish like parrotfish, angelfish, and jacks. There are also many anemones with families of anemonefish or damsels in each of them. This is an excellent site for underwater photography. The visibility was exceptional, and the marine landscape is of insane beauty!
