Lest we forget, the competition between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark was a great influence in women's basketball when LSU BECAME THE CHAMPIONS. SOME people did not know who Caitlin Clark was prior to the "I don't see you" gesture during the tournament. THE COMPETITION CONTINUES. Could it be that your refusal to acknowledge the impact that Angel Reese has had on the game is caused by your closed mind and hateful heart?

The time slot that some of the games Chicago Sky played were at 11:00 a.m. when most people are/were at work. Or perhaps you have the leisure time to attend. However, I, like many other's watch both players. I purchased the WNBA pass to watch ANGEL REESE. Like I have commented before, the WNBA league existed long before CC and there was no mention of CC UNTIL the LSU vs Iowa Championship game (LSU won) and the "I don't see you" gesture. You would not know about the attendance records UNLESS you were keeping tabs on ANGEL REESE too. LOL

The Washington mystics game got capped at 10,000 they actually refused to move it to a bigger venue bc I tried to buy tickets for it but it was sold out. She brought in 17,000 plus for the ny liberty and has sold out every home game she’s played except maybe 3 bringing in A list celebrities to watch. You don’t have to like her and her impact isn’t a big as CC but other than Las Vegas she brings in the seconde biggest draw wherever she goes. No need to hate on a black woman that has more fans than you’ll ever have 🫶🏾 maybe try uplifting our sisters instead of bringing them down to appease the whites.

Caitlin's obviously more popular. But Angel Reese is very popular as well. On social media, in Chicago, and among her peers. Angel has a much bigger personality than Caitlin, so that helps with marketing and media coverage.

No. Does having a bigger personality for marketing and media coverage put more people in the seats of the arena in Chicago and at away games. Again No. You can try to move the goal posts all you want in this conversation there is one person and one person only that has influenced in a major way the audiences that she attracts at home and away games. If you don’t believe me go see at how many spectators she has at home and away games. There is no comparison between the numbers being attracted by AR it is very similar to any audience growth from other franchises. Therefore talking about it make it sounds like it is significant when it’s not.

@michelleblanc6377 I'd compare it to late 90s MJ and Rodman. MJ was the bigger money-maker, with the more exciting game. But Rodman was also a huge star, that was a master at rebounding. Like Rodman, Angel's game isn't flashy, but she's dominant at that skill, and she has charisma. That helps to grow the game, along with fan attendance for Caitlin.

@@Dre-xc2no Don’t get it twisted man. CC attracts eyeballs towards AR because they play the same game and she tries to play her nemesis and the WNBA is milking that story as much as they can. But CC’s fandom would be alive and well without whatever eyeballs AR can bring to the party if any don’t fool yourself into thinking otherwise. I don’t dispute that AR character and personality might eventually buildup a following of her own that will eventually sustain the Chicago market but that transfer of attraction hasn’t happened yet and this is definitely something the WNBA should work towards by using their most attractive star player in every single market. Because not doing that and failing to make that transfer would mean that the WNBA would fall flat on their face and end up right back to the position they were before Caitlin Clark entered the league. They (WNBA) would also be well advised to take under their wings the upcoming wave of talents of the NCAA (like Paige Bueckers, JuJu Watkins and others) that will bring an exciting gameplay and continue the inflow of interest that was initially generated by the arrival of Caitlin Clark. This will eventually allow the league to diversify and sustain the interest for the league on the long term. Relying on the attraction of a single player no matter how charismatic that player is. It is not a viable option that can maintain and grow a league.
