this reminds me of that time I was framed for vehicular manslaughter and imprisoned in a max security prison in Florida, and my dad who could stop time had to come help me escape from the maniacal priest trying to kill the inmates and take their soul abilities

This feels like something id do at age 10, just roleplaying a chess prison escape.

I like how the rooks are kinda like guard towers like an actual prison.

Try again with 2 knights only, its mainly based on luck cause you have to take the rooks hoping that Martin doesn't capture back. I did it first try.

Idea Vs Martin. You have to move the same type of piece twice in a row. Eg. If you move a pawn on move 1, then you also have to move a pawn (any pawn) on move 2.

I have another challage for you. Play with Martin. Give him normal pices, and give yourself a lot of queens. Now try to make Martin win. I think it will be harder.

I think Stockfish is really struggling to evaluate the position at 0:37 Black is up 14 pawns, 4 rooks and 3 bishops, but still thinks white is +0.6

to change up the last one to make it a little more interesting, you have a setup in the corner with the black king adjacent to 2 rooks but they cannot move due to all the dark square bishops. The goal should be to reach the 8th rank instead of 1st because you can have pawns on the 1st or second rank to stop him with pawns infront of them undefended to act like a wall you have to break through. Same idea where there are 1 or 2 light bishops you have to be careful of.

WOW, with my dad we made almost exactly the same variant the only difference is that we called it King Escape, and we have knights and bishops !

You make a wheel, and depending on which action it says capture move or check, you have to do it. If your unable to do it in 1 move, you lose the game. the challenges are hard because the opponent doesn't do the right moves. it's just a random thing that doesn't depend on you. i think you should go against harder bots but easier positions.

Have you ever played the variant where black gets all their pieces but why only gets the their king and for central pawns, BUT white gets two moves during their turn instead of 1? (And the king can't end the turn in check, not it's move) Very fun, different, quite scary for black

Chess but their is snowing on the board so your king is not allowed to get out of his castle behind pawns. Queen also need a castle in opposite side king castled. your pieces are not allowed to move to snowy light coloured square. And if the touch on light coloured square you will lose that piece because of cold the piece which land on light coloured square will di only time they can stay there is in the beginning and light coloured bishop need to stay inside castle of your king or queen

Interesting concept, but ultimately comes down to when Martin decides to let you through. Not a lot you can really do to influence the game using your skill. Suggestion for another Martin challenge: Hand and Brain, but you use a dice as the brain. 1: Pawn 2: Knight 3: Bishop 4: Rook 5: Queen 6: King Depending on how hard you want to make it, you can choose to do different things if the rolled piece isn't present or has no legal moves. Easy mode: You choose any piece Medium mode: Re-roll until you get a valid option. Hard mode: Must use king. Ultra mode: You lose. (obviously need to make some allowances for move 1)

Is there no one that questions how the 2 pawns in front aren’t queens or upgraded

the first game played makes no sense. just keep the two rocks aligned on any rank below the king. the king can't pass or kill either rock. game over. with the knights, the things get a bit more interesting but black has so many pieces that it's too easy to sacrifice a couple to destroy the knights. same applies to knights plus bishops. the all bishops is also an easy one. if black doesn't make any silly mistakes, white's king can't reach it's goal.

To be honest the first one is harder then the second because the first you have to get past rooks and the second you cound go through the middle of bishops(Im not thinking it al the way throught feel free to disagree)
