I used to play this when I started chess. Very good weapon to start. Hey, I want to suggest something for next content. See, I recently learned about the Chameleon Variation of the Slav Defense. Now, it would be brilliant to have a Chess Openings Video about this, but more importantly, add the history facts about it, cause I haven't been able to find anything useful that expain the origin of the name, why is it called like that and who discovered it or made it popular, you know all that stuff. I love the history behind every opening. Tons of love to you, me mate.

Hey brotha. Just looked up the Chamelon Variation and it looks really solid. And ya totally. In fact even a series just explaining names could be a lot of fun!! Thanks for the ideas man.

Thank you so much for this video. The Bishop's Opening has recently become my go-to opening as white, replacing my beloved g3 Vienna. There are so many opportunities for transposition to openings like the Vienna Gambit and the Scotch Gambit. There are at least three RU-vid chess creators who have done multiple videos on the tricks and gambits in this opening, and it has revolutionized my play making me a swashbuckling gambiteer. The weak square f7 is such a juicy target. Yes, I would love to see a video on the Urosov Gambit, and perhaps a video on how to punish the Calabrese Countergambit where black plays 2. ... f5. Keep up the great work, Solomon!

You got it Dennis! Glad you liked it, and that's cool to hear you've been playing the Bishop's Opening. Hopefully I can keep making some opening videos around these e4/e4/Bc4 type positions.

1:59 instead of moving the queen Nf3 is a lot trickier, if the opponent goes d6 we just play Qd5+, they will be tempted to play Be6 and we can destroy black with Ng5+

At the 3:56 mark, white plays Nd/f3. A killer move for black is Nc/e5. White has to play Nf/xe5, right? Otherwise, black captures whites bishop with Ne/xc4. The computer seems to think both sides are even, but black will own the center of the board.
@TheChessGiant
@TheChessGiant 11 месяцев назад
Hey! This is a great question. I had to go over to chess.com to look it over. There's a line that may be of interest to you. ...Ne5 and then we actually continue by capturing that knight but then playing Qh5, double attacking f7 and e5, and once we see Ng6 - we have f4 and white with some interesting attacking chances. What do you think of this position? Let me know! Thanks, Solomon
@elperro3683
@elperro3683 11 месяцев назад
The queen move is a great idea! The computer seems to have a slight preference for Bg5 prior to f4. Lots of pressure on Black!@@TheChessGiant

Very nice video. 12:04 I agree that 3. d3 is totally playable, but it's also easier for black to fight for the initiative after 3. ... c6 and 4. ... d5. I prefer switching to Vienna game with 3. Nc3.
@TheChessGiant

For sure! Ya Nc3 fights for the center much faster than d3. And thanks man glad you enjoyed it.
