I have a great sense of humour, so good that I am kind of a joke connoisseur ( I only laugh at great jokes) but your comment cracked me up as it was simplicity in itself
@@youmnasehar6058 I actually recently received my third joke Grandmaster norm meaning only the most stockfish-approved bangers of humor can evoke the slightest chuckle out of me. Get on my my level, bruh.
You’d think if you’re gonna be too prideful to shake hands you’d at least not look like a middle schooler trying to avoid eye contact with their crush.
Pro move in this situation would be to stare at your opponent the whole match instead. You've already got him looking anywhere but at you, take the opportunity to make him as uncomfortable as possible. Who knows, it might put him off his game a bit.
Well, there was a long interview with Kramnik not long ago where he explained his view on that tournament. While toilet issue may sound funny it actually was a serious problem. Basically Kramnik suspected that after forcing him to go to public tiolet instead of the one restricted to players only next step would be some convenient guy suggesting him a move on the way there with scandal and possibly disqualification following. So he refused to play on such terms as his whole career and reputation could be destroyed if he was right
@@bobing1752 not exactly, coz one important member of Anand's team quit and joined carlsen's team just before the championship match, and as u know this world isn't kind and honest enough to expect no leak of preparation and strategies, so yes no way was it calm, anand just didn't rant coz he is such a gentleman
@@vedpardhi6409 I disagree on the point that this wasn't calm. It was. This preparation thing was maybe upseting to them, but neither of them has talked about it (to my knowledge at least) so I'm safe saying there was nothing dramatic here. Just an anecdote and speculations. Also, going through the game, I don't think Magnus outprepared Vishy. So maybe all of this is just a nothing burger. Maybe not, but the thing is: they didn't talk about it.
Kramnik: *goes in the toilet and takes out the paper in his pocket* The paper: "A pawn may capture en passant a horizontally adjacent enemy pawn that has just advanced two squares in one move. It's always forced." Kramnik: FFFUU***KKK ! I blundered En Passant !!!
Thank you Levy. Today for the first time I was able to beat Stockfish level 5. This progress goes completely to you. I’ve been watching your videos and lessons and I have been learning a lot.I got some subs from Twitch and I made a contribution to you via Paypal as a token of appreciation for all that you do. With kind regards Dipak

Hope you get your channel monetisation back, bro. The most engaging and entertaining chess teacher I have found on RU-vid. You make the theory enjoyable. Appreciate you, Levy!
@@3ternalHours Levy decided to split from his RU-vid management network (no idea why), but didn't realise that doing so would remove his ability to monetize videos. I think all he has to do is ask RU-vid to give him that status again (they don't have any obvious reason to deny it), but who knows how long it will take...
@@rouenyu and there are aphantasia, hiperphantasia, etc there are levels of quality of mental image. I can play chess blindfolded with much effort and much weaker and I would expect it's the same with Kramnik but at the end you never know.
30:28 Now they carefully have to ignore each other xD. GM beef is so cute its funny, you accused me of cheating on the most prestigious stage of our careers? WELL I WONT SHAKE YOUR HAND! *crowd gasp*
@Bot AtChess ye im caught up to sangatsu, rei has gotten so far its like we watched him grow up, which is odd to say cause im younger than him hehe Anyways yes 3-gatsu is amazing ,10/10 manga
@Bot AtChess a chess manga/anime could honestly work wonders, good game adaptations like sangatsu and chihayafuru shows that it can be done ,but we may have to wait quite a while before a chess based piece comes along BTW whats your top 5 anime
I like the one where Topalov extends his arm forward like it's gonna be a handshake NOPE, jebaited, just setting the clock. And then in the background you see Levon and Anish actually shaking hands.
@Bot AtChess I've read the higurashi vns, I know exactly what you mean my friend Haven't seen lain yet, it's on the watchlist for now, will get to it Death note is probably in the top 3 most well known anime , although yes it did have a slight decline post L death but yes, one of my firsts and definitely good Monster manga is 10/10, it was amazing to see how attached we got to characters who lasted for 2 TO 3 CHAPTERS AT MOST, Johan is probably the best antagonist of all time Haven't seen kings game or flowers of evil, I'll add to the watchlist Anohana and the tears we cried that day *KIMI TO NATSU NO OWARI SHORAI NO YUME OOKITA KI BOWO WASURETAI* Terror in resonance is criminally underrated, I just wished they'd gotten a better end
Hey Levy. Hope you’re doing alright. You’ll probably never see this, but just letting you know, I appreciate your videos. Helps me stay distracted from some of the harder things in life. If you ever feel stressed to make content, feel free to take a break for as long as you like.
normally i cant watch YT content for more than 15min but the way you tell the story or strategy and also make it informative and fun to watch really makes me forget that im wachting videos of 30min or 50min+ keep it up!
Love it! So much drama. I just found your channel because of the BBC clip about chess streamers and the impact of the Queen's Gambit. I used to play a little bit of chess as a child, and we had a chess club at my elementary school, but it was all very basic. We didn't learn a lot of advanced chess and I never even came close to doing a ranked match. Then I saw QG and it has definitely renewed my enthousiasm.
Thank you Levy for making a video on Topalov, as a Bulgarian I can confirm he’s considered a hero among us; it’s a shame his international reputation is less than stellar (he’s a brilliant chess mind though)
Can we take a moment to appreciate Levy ruining his sleep schedule for providing us with 2 daily uploads? Also , thanks Levy for your content and making me into a better player , keep doing your stuff :).
Hey Levy, love the videos, they've really helped me improve. I was thinking maybe you could make one where you go through the history of the world championship (first one, times it's been split/controversies, etc.).
On Kramnik's keychain was a tiny flashlight, of the kind you use to see the keyhole in the dark. Unknown to the chess organisers, Kramnik's manager was writing secret messages in invisibility pen on the white tiles, and Kramnik would use his ultraviolet flashlight to read them, then wipe them off and resume the match.
Even if Gotham makes a 1 hour video, I will definitely watch it completely because Gotham sends good vibes and is so cheerful that he lifts up my mood. Thankyou Dad!
I just have to appreciate what an entertaining personality Levy is. He's like the coolest teacher of the school in your childhood memories or the greatest storyteller in the family. Awesome, I really do appreciate this channel and his content. High five and thanks a million Gotham!
@@fusettimatteo i can dig deep to say that's not true because in that (shitty) video they did not use a toilet , but i get the idea its Banter like the UK fellas would say
In my opinion Anand, Kramnik and Topalov were the strongest players post the Kasparov-Karpov era and Anand probably the strongest as he beat Kramnik to be WC and then successfully defended his title against Topalov
We cannot know what happened for sure, but you have to admit that Kramnik going up to 50 times to the bathroom each game is not normal... Every game!!!
I mean when you see the lengths the KGB went for doping athletes by drilling through walls in bathrooms to change samples around it's hard not to think they had a way to get him a computer of some sort.
It's not normal. He was using the bathroom as a tactic to annoy tupolov. Kasparov would go to his waiting room after every move during his match with Anand
Im bad in english so i didnt understand so well what you said in the storytime but I like the chess games that you show us everyday, youre a great person
Hey Levy I recently bought your course on e4 openings for white and I can already tell it's a banger! I'm barely a ~550 on rapid, but with your lesson on the Vienna Gambit against the copycat variation I was able to beat a 1600 bot. Your course is great man, thanks.
Huh, interesting that Kramnick was accused of cheating. He must have some paranoia from that moment because now he's accusing tons of grandmasters of cheating. I wonder if he was more worried about cheating because of that moment......
If you are bored and cant do anything, but sit and do nothing its pretty normal to go to the toilet more maybe even only to wasch your hands or drink some water.
@@emperorsascharoni9577 They had water there, but more importantly 50 visits. Fifty? That's surreal. honestly, I do believe there is something off there.
@@emperorsascharoni9577 i mean, i get it, but if you go 3 times, then play a move, then you go 3 times to play the next move, it does get a bit fishy there.
Gotham, you say "that's the most savage move I've seen in your life" a lot in your videos. Could you make a compilation of the most savage moves you've ever seen? (Not a slight as I know chess is an evolving game).
Could you make a video about passed pawns in the middlegame? For example, how to defend against passed pawns through blockading, or how to attack with past pawns through removing the blockader?
This is great... I'm a fan of kramnik play because I still don't understand his play and there's not much of a video of him... I would be happy to watch another video of him in gothamchess 🤗
I had a good friend who used to make such jokes about 30 years ago. Then, as now, the funniest thing is actually observing the reactions of other people who don't know if they are allowed to laugh, or feel compelled to express outrage.
Gotham's channel is a masterpiece. Love you levy❤️❤️❤️ Have no words to explain your videos❤️ waiting for the Guess the elo next episode for which I play chess.
