Thanks for the critique. We intended to tell a story rather than display excellent chess, which is why some of the moves weren't seen, and why others didn't make good tactical sense.
This video is awesome, but there are many problems within the game itself. 1. Board setup does not make sense. 2. The white bishop that caused check at the beginning gets captured which is a common mistake. 3. Random moves everywhere. 4. Black queen who killed the rook was a terrible mistake. 5. White queen captures other queen, another terrible mistake. ( Insult of losing queens ) 6. How does black not know that a white pawn wants to promote? 7. Did black even move before the black King was checkmated?
Well, all the remarks about mistakes in the game are not really important in these videos. Chess games are not only played by strong players and it's perfectly fine to have beginner games uploaded as well (Which this game obviously is). This is not an instructional video, and beginner moves are expected. As someone who worked for years as a Chess trainer, including absolute beginners, they make these kind of mistakes all the time in the beginning, a lot more than in this game. They're still enjoying the game as they're learning. Not sure what you meant about board setup doesn't make sense. From the chess perspective - the pieces start in the right places. If you meant the way they get to the board, that is the whole point of the video - adding other elements that make the video more... Fantastic for many audiences, and I consider it a plus. Makes it grander. The video is awesome, and I hope whoever edits and uploads such videos will have no problems with adding his own type of "flare" to the editting, and will feel free to upload games this way - whether advanced games or beginner games :)
Fuck I remember I saw this when I was 8 years old (saw it the year this was uploaded), on those years I used to love chess. Now im playing it again and I decided to search for this video. Seeing this made me feel like great!
