I have the Jazz Classics reissue with the Playboy cover. Funny you posted this today, I just did a "shorts" video using this album. Haven't uploaded it yet.

Great review. I came to this record as a fan of Carl Perkins who I discovered on Harold Land and Curtis Counce albums. Subsequently, I've been on an Art Pepper kick. Pepper and Perkins also team up on a session I have on cd under the name "The Art of Pepper." They really complement each other. Perkins plays some beautiful piano on that session.

Hadn't noticed that! Cool. As you'll know this of course was the set of dates at the Surf Club which attracted the interest of Dick Bock and was his foothold as an independent producer.
