Believe it or not, amongst autumn leaves on August 22 in 1987, Chet Baker performed at a local jazz festival in Boden, up north in Sweden. What a long journey it must have been for Chet to travel that far and of course a huge event for the jazz fans in this quite small town. And for me personally, something I will never forget.
Boden is a town in the northernmost part of Sweden, on the edge of the Arctic Circle - you might know it as the place where the midnight sun never sets. It was a lovely experience sitting there on the bench in the Rotunda, listening to my number one solo jazz musician.
