I never understood why so many people say this is the best Chevelle song; please don't give David the impression this is as good as Chevelle gets! This is only off their second album and they have 9 (soon 10) albums now with way more intricate and dynamic stuff.
love the song of course but yeahhhhh it's so so so far away from being the best chevelle song. this is cookie cutter compared to their best songs. and I mean that in the most polite way lol
I recently rediscovered them thanks to Pandora (I had no idea they were still making music! :D), for whatever reason it loves playing stuff off Niratias right now...currently massively in love with Verruckt and So Long, Mother Earth
Lyrically, my favorite is Highlands Apparition (I like lyrics in metaphors), however, *THIS* is their best album overall hands down and the groove and instrumentals on this track are fantastic!~
I know music is 100% opinion....but don't go introducing this as their best song. Many rock fans won't dig it. Chevelle has wayyyyyy better songs than this
Great album! An Evening With El Diablo is my favorite track on this one. It has a killer bassline. Also, their cover of Depeche Mode's "It's No Good" is actually really good 😁
This is still with brother Joe on bass. They were so much better when they were a band of 3 brothers in my opinion. They were a local band from my scene back when and it still bugs me to know Sam and Pete still don't talk to Joe and still talk bad about him in interviews when asked about him. He says he was fired, they say he quit... who really knows but I think I believe Joe. It's a good song but also not my favorite. I believe you were thinking about The Clincher being the catchier song you more recently reacted to.
I'm really interested to see how you would score Chevelle's Ghost and Razor from their latest album. I feel like I'm one of the only ones who f'ing love the hell out of that song.
very fair. with the way this dude reviews things I thought this song would get a 4 or less. It's honestly an extremely overrated cookie cutter song. I'm honestly very surprised he gave it that high of a score.
I like this song but it's certainly more of an in-between type of track, or a subdued bookend for an album (I don't know where it actually lands on the disc). Not a skip, but not among their better songs, to me.
Even though to me this is a 10/10 and one of my all time favorite songs, the only reason im upset with your score is that you didn't go 0.1 point higher 😞
Being a reactor, do you ever go down the rabbit hole when you hear a band you like or restrain for sake of the channel? I could be wrong, but it seems for some bands like Gemini Syndrome, Rammstein, etc. I am guessing you didn't wait for the next request and went on your own to check out more from the band.
It completely depends on what is in the que. Using Rammstein as an example, there are still requests in the que for more Rammstein reactions. So I won't go down the rabbit hole yet. However once there are no more Rammstein requests in the que, then it's game on. On the other hand, in the case of Gemini Syndrome, there was only the one request for Gemini Syndrome in the que. No one made any more requests. I even held off a couple of months to give people a chance to request more Gemini Syndrome reactions. However, no one did, so I dove headfirst into the Gemini Syndrome discography. Just a heads up, "Lux" is my favorite album by them.
