I recently went with the afe rebel side outlet (in front of tire). I'm happy with it, sounds good for a 6 cylinder. Comes with easy to follow instructions to do everything yourself pretty easily. The bonus of the side outlet for me was I no longer need that ugly heat shield around my spare tire.
And the flowmaster isn't annoying loud. I wonder how it is at around 2000rpm with the engine lugging when the 3.6L has an annoying drone Which eventually is freeway cruising speeds and lugging to go up hill, so I'm trying to find something to mask that, I thought a K&N intake would give it a more throatier sound, which it does, but it's also crazy loud and sounds like an angry wookie when when driving up hill I like the Gibson dual as well
After 3 colorados and three different mufflers (turbo tube, magnaflow, and stock) the only way to eliminate drone (the constant sound at about 2k rpm under load like going up a slight grade at 70 mph) the best solution is leave factory muffler and remove the resonator. It will sound a little better outside but no different inside. After all, isn’t that the goal is make it sound a little more ballsy? Give a listen to a 2020 Silverado with the 4.3 (if u can find one) it sounds bold and just has the stock muffler and screen type resonated tailpipe. I did have the flapper removed as it does make it quieter with it. I have a startup on my page but no drive by. You can hear it under a load outside as I did listen when a friend punched it for me. 🙂 Thanks for posting this.
The magnaflo dual system sounds like a good system for my truck?! Hard to tell listening to the comparison on my phone. V6 engines are difficult to make sound as cool as a V8 which is what most people compare it to. Imo
on my 2018 redline v6 I just went to a random shop and got a good deal on a resonator and muffler delete, sounds great honestly. Flow master cat back is the only one that sounds better imo.
Most the singles sounded the same, and the fake ( one into two) duals also sounded a like. All OK! But with further research the Borla seems to be the only one that is ALL 304 Stainless, some are not even stainless but aluminized, most are 409 stainless. So the Borla will be my choice. I'd even put "shorty Headers on if I could find them.
They all sound like crap. The stock sounds best. Too bad nothing comes close to sounding like a V8. I don’t want my Colorado sounding like a ricer so I’ll keep it stock.
Why even bother it's a V6 all you hear here is a lawnmower sound becoming more increasingly annoying .. Don't get me wrong great little truck, but my vote would be ..keep it OG
@@gtileo well ya, but in no realm a truck should sound like a sporty v6 IMHO.. Again not hating, I got one myself aside from my Silverado. I think the Colorado is the best midsize they have done at GM
@@MichelLinschoten no disagreement there. The V6 in the canyon/Colorado may have the but the sound is trash. The biggest complaint I have with my Canyon is the noise it makes.
