How much do you have in the whole front axle and brackets? Thinking about doing a SAS on my truck

Are the front springs supposed to flex up like that? How’s it ride? Awesome job btw mines kinda a hack job I bought I’d love to mak it better mines way too tall

As far as I know it’s normal. If they were flat or arched it would be too tall! These are 2” lift springs that ORD picked for me, they say they are the same as on their Ultimate Adventure rig. Ride is nice and soft, more comfortable than stock 3/4ton IFS, 1/2 ton IFS is more comfy though. There is a bit of give in the steering from the springs bending side-to-side so I am considering doing a track bar as I plan to do lots of towing with the truck so precise steering would be nice

@@simple_man_jkb offroad designs sells them, Alcan spring makes them. They are custom made and have a long lead time. I think I waited 3 months for mine.

Hey Brother I've got a 08 rado 2500 HD looking to do a SAS swap I've got 4.56 gears with a locker in front I've found a Dana 60 from a 2005 ford for 450 bucks but how much fabrication am I looking at ive never welded a day in my life so looking to outsource the build but I don't want to get bent over what's a fair price for something like this?

It took me over 100 hours of labor and $10k in parts so... I imagine a shop would be asking around 20k. I don’t know, ask WFO concepts how much they charge. They do chevy axle swaps all the time and they do very nice work

I was gonna do a video explaining the cost of the SAS but I doubt I’ll ever get around to it. I have about $10,000 into the suspension, steering, axles and driveline, not including the new tires.

What did you do to bypass the front axle actuator and the abs system

Good question. The front axle disconnect actuator is still connected to the wiring harness! It’s hose clamped to the inside of the frame rail so the push-button T-case shifts properly lol I forgot about it because it’s a non-issue. The ABS does not work without the reluctor rings and sensors, I didn’t care to make it work so I pulled the ABS fuse.

I added up all the receipts.. $10,412.89 without the tires. Really you get nickeled and dimed with all the little stuff. It’s a huge parts list

Sorry for the late reply. The rear shocks are direct fit for 4-6” lift gmt400 trucks. Bilstein 24-067379. The fronts remote reservoirs shocks I used were Bilstein 25-175783 and the steering stabilizer was 24-158848 while I have the order page up haha
