Realistic diorama. I’ve encountered a number of these abandoned vehicles in the mountains that were stolen and stripped or wrecked while joyriding. Nice job on the trucks. Your hard work really paid off. Thanks for the excellent tutorial. Best wishes.
Great idea! Lovely towtruck & freshly crashed truck. Wow! Outstanding diorama. Love the rocks, trees & roots. Can really see the time & effort here. Amazing job. 🏆
I would say this is your best diorama to date! The groundwork and trees look very realistic and the overall effect is quite convincing. The wrecker or recovery vehicle, looks so much more like a scale model then it did before. The markings give it an authentic look too. It was a great idea to use the Chevy Blazer diecast disaster as is. It is too damaged to repair so a crashed vehicle is an excellent option. Thanks for sharing this tutorial as I can see a lot of hard work went into it.
My brother owned a Blazer. The rear roof section was made of fiberglass and meant to be removable so you could have an open topped vehicle behind the front seats. In a roll over crash, this top would not be bent, but rather fractured or torn off completely. An additional touch might have been burn damage around the hood and front fenders from an engine fire caused by the crash.
Another excellent re-work of both vehicles, the diorama construction is really interesting and when finally finished sets the scene for both models .Really is nice completer project .....cheers for showing us the way you do every think Danny
I could have sworn I was watching a Luke Towan video for the last half there. That diorama really turned out great and I am going to save this video so that I can hopefully create one like it in the future.
Wonderful diorama and awesome cars. The blazer looks a bit to clen for such a heavy accident, especialy the hardtop and the right side of the Vehicle. After an overturning the Roof must be dirty and scrachet. The wrecker looks beautiful. The towcrane and workarea are a bit to clean to. Such work very fast show chiped paint and grime on the surface of the body. Some little chains from the wrecker to the wreck would make the diorama more realistic. Greetings from Germany to New Zealand
Another great one! very realistic! I think you have found your niche in the restoration world..Comparable to the VW van diorama for sure.I especially liked the scraped portion of the wrecker's rear bumper corners, like the vehicle was well used and scraped against a few things in its life... Well Done!
You are a diorama MASTER, Danny !! That is a skillful use of materials and imagination ... Really liked the vehicles as well 5☆ job all the way around !!
Thats super nice!!! I still have both of those matchbox vehicles in excellent condition. I had two Chevy Blazers in my life loved them . This is an awesome Diorama
I discovered (by accident) that exposure to the fumes from 70% isopropyl alcohol, (rubbing alcohol) the kind used for first aid, will cause plastic to craze. The effect is exactly like an in-scale version of the crazing that happens to car window safety glass in a crash. You might want to experiment with this technique to make your crash dioramas look even MORE realistic. PS; Never lay a cheap phone with a plastic screen face down on an open alcohol wipe packet. I learned that the hard way. ☎😱
I love this! I think you should place the Blazer next to a tree as if it hit one after it rolled over, cause I've seen cars that were damaged like the Blazer after it hit a tree.
Impressive Danny. i need to make time to do this. The detailing and ideas are superb. i hope for the sake of the child that the wreck wasn't trodden on by a barefoot dad. 11/10
I love that diorama, it's amazing! Fabrication skills like that are a work of art! I can do some nice dioramas too, but not to this level, and not this quickly. I'm big on the display backgrounds and dioramas, that particular one would look phenomenal with train tracks over the roadway, and an old steam locomotive on display.
Absolutely nuts how great the finished product came out! Such a good job. Really great man. If I had only one gripe it would be that the "canopy" on the Blazer could have done with some love when you chipped up the paint on the body given the condition it was in. But that's so nitpicky. So much work went into this and it's amazing.
this was really interesting. I've never seen you use a disaster in your dioramas. That was very clever. I might have had the truck on the crushed side for even more impact but I see why you chose the angle you did. The rolled front tire and axle really works here.
Very nice. During the process your work looks a bit slappy, from time to time and my original intention was only jump through the video(because of it's total time), but I watch it all and the final result is really excellent. I like it very much. Thank you.
The Matchbox GMC Wreaker is being made by Matchbox today in newer versions and it was based on a 1980's GMC R3500 and as for the Chevy Blazer that's been smashed as Marty would always say it looks like someone stamp on it.
AMAZING JOB DANNY, IM CURIOUS DO YOU HAVE A VIDEO SHOWING ALL YOUR WORK I MEAN LIKE ALL THE BEAUTIFUL CREATION YOU HAVE MADE DISPLAYED FER OUR VIEWING PLEASURE??. ☆☆☆☆☆ THE VID KEEP EM COMIN BUDDY =)
My hats off to you. Lots of work but it looks just gr8t! I. have seen your other diorama. I would love to see a video with all your dioramas. Do you think that would be posible? Im sure im not the only one that would love to see that video.
