Holy crap! I've owned a 17 cruze for a year and a half and I didn't know about that keyhole cover on the driver side till now. I immediately after seeing that feature I walked to my car and viola! It's there! I really thought if my battery was dead, I'd have no way to enter my car. Thanks to you, I learned something new about my car.
I knew of it cause of the various RU-vid videos I watched on the car before I bought it. I’ve had to use that keyhole before. It’s also all in your manual! I bought my car new so I’ve gone through the manual few times before to just learn more about the car. I think everyone should when they get a vehicle.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I was just flagged down in a Walgreens parking lot by an older gentleman with a dead battery in his truck. I have a 2018 Chevy Cruze and neither of us could find the negative terminal and if it wasn’t for your video he might still be sitting there!
excellent instruction Bravo thank you my friend keep making more videos about this car because I don't feel as though there's enough out there and the other videos are boring as hell the other guy will talk his head off about up under the hood about the car you could barely understand what it's saying because the video is poor yours on the other hand excellent video and commentary keep up the great work
I’m glad I googled to find where’s the battery in a 2019 Cruze. Your video came up when I googled it. I’m glad that it did. I learned several things on today ❤️ I Had know idea that the battery was in the trunk😱😱😱 Thank you so much.🙏🏽 I did subscribe and shared it 🙏🏽
2016 Chevy Cruze-So literally a couple hours after paying a locksmith 45 bucks to unlock my door because the key fob quit working(i replaced the battery in it, wasn't the problem) the car is dead dead. So then, I pop the hood to try and charge the battery. Cannot for the life of me find it. So, RU-vid to the rescue. I learned two things today! One, I wish I would have found you before I dropped 45 bucks and two, I'm sticking to the old school vehicles from now on. The ones where you have to have two separate keys, one for the door and one for the ignition lol. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!
How long do these batteries last? My 2018 still has the original battery. If I turn the key in the on position it usually reads 11.5-11.6 volts after sitting over night and charges high 14's even 15.0 for an extended period of time. I don't know if something is using the battery or if the battery is having trouble keeping the charge or if it's just getting older.
I bought my 2017 RS in late 2016. It just died last week, but the auto start/stop hasn’t worked for a year so it was probably on its way out when that started
Usually lasts 3-5 years and if you put your car in L instead of D and press the + button on the shifter so that it says L6 on your gauge it will basically turn off auto stop while staying in automatic mode and you don't need to shift gears just leave it in L6
@@markjou9799 yes my 2017 cruz does the same exact thing as you have mentioned mark, and it just started a couple days ago. Its the original battery, so it lasted 5 years i suppose.
Thank you for that info. I store my Cruze Premier for 5-6 months while I am out of the country. I could not find the battery. This will solve that problem. My Cadi has it under the back seat. easier to get to I must admit.
I haven’t opened the trunk to look yet, but I have the start/stop and just ordered a ACDelco 94R AGM Gold w-start/stop. Are there any other things I’ll need to do besides what’s shown on this video? Also have two amps and 2 12’s I had professionally installed. I have a bad feeling they’re connected to the battery too (honestly have no idea I can’t lift the sub box, so have no idea what to expect when battery gets here).
I just changed my battery on my 2018 cruze 09/13/2024 I kept hearing a crank sound when i started my car 🚗 my car has 276.000 miles now that i changed the battery i no longer hear that sound it was due no lights on the dash board you hsve to know your car 😊
I have the same model and color just mine is a 2018 I think I need a new battery the car as of recently shuts off sometimes when at a light so I put it in park and push start sometimes even when it’s in park it will shut off
So what’s the best battery to use in the Cruze if I have amp and sub setup I think I need to upgrade because if i turn my dome light on it will pulse no other lights have done that been this way for about 7 months
Mine would come up "Battery Low, Please Start Car" on the dash when I would sit in the car on break at work, listening to radio (happened tonight for the first time in 3 years). Crank the car up it would quickly charge back up to 14.5V according to dash. Turn car back off and within 10 mins it was already down to 11V telling me to start car back up again. After a HUGE runaround with local car parts stores, I ended up taking it to Chevy to get the battery installed. NOTE: Beware of them trying to sell you ones that dont support AGM w/ Start/stop support. Most of the batteries that would come up as a fit for my Cruze (2017 LT) in the parts store, did not have support for either and they (Advance, Auto Zone and O'Rilley) all refused to install a new one even if I did buy the one they had that was truly compatible (AGM, Group H7, 850 CCA).
@@DULLAHGOSOHARD That's the issue. The places I went to have different batteries for the 2nd gen Cruzes. It requires a special version of it, AGM that supports stop/start. Some of the batteries in stock that came up for my Cruze (2017 LT) in the store weren't AGM nor supported stop/start, yet came up in their system for it. Not only that they (Advance, O'Rilley, and Auto Zone) all refused to install it. Ended up having to go to Chevy Dealership, as I don't have the tools on hand to do it myself.
@@junkiexl86 Odd... Mine is over 6 years old & so I'm looking at a proactive replacement. All the auto-store batteries say "Auto-Start: No". Now, I have a manual trans so no auto-start, but I know the automatic cars all have auto-start. What does it mean & where can you buy an 'auto-start' battery?
Wrong and here's the reason. If you remove the positive terminal first, and your metal tool contacts the metal of the car, being that it's negative ground it will arc and possibly injure you or damage the car. If you remove the negative first, no risk of arcing.
