In regards to the wiring of the fog light the kit provides a wiring harness that ends with a positive (Red) and negative (Black) wires show in the video, there are many ways of installing these wire some like adding a switch in the cabin other like myself install them to work directly with the factory set up. The way I installed them was by connecting the negative wire (black) to the battery negative (black) as show in the video, now the positive wire (red) was not shown in the video but the wire is located on the bumpers side marker light find the positive wire (muti-color usually white with another color or sometimes solid red depending on the model variant/year) it will be one of the two powering the side marker light. An easy way to find out which of the two is the positive wire on the market is with a simple light voltage reader with one end on the negative of the battery test for a positive response.
Hey bro in the video u said that u put the negative on the chassis but in the text u said u connected the negative wire to the negative battery slot. I am confused?
@@LuisMartinez-vr7un yeah I had plan to put it to the chassis but it ended up being easier to connect it to the battery you can see it on the video at the 3:00 minute marker.
Would you be able to hook the positive directly to the positive terminal on the battery? I saw someone do it in another video but im curious about the cons to that.
I sure wish I could have seen the different colors the Chevy Cruze has. My dealer only had a metallic black colored 2014 Cruze in stock. Since I liked the car, I bought it. If I had the choice again, I would have chosen silver or the color blue that you have. One thing that I think would benefit you about your marker lights. What I did was switch the bulbs out for LEDs. I did that for the marker lights, the rear lights, plate lights and reverse lights. I left the turn signals alone since they're not used quite as often. I also didn't want to mess around with the wiring to convert the turn signals to LED. I also plan to install a fog light kit like you have on your car. I'm trying to decide between this or the OEM kit that GM makes for the Cruze. What makes this kit a better choice is that it's cheaper and easier to install. I just wonder how long the LEDs will last before the lights will have to be replaced.
This is the exact same thing that I did to my nephew's 14 Cruze. but, I am wanting to rewire it into the fuse block with a fuse tap so that these lights will come on as soon as the key is turned on.
my model did not bring any fogs lights neither and yet i used this kit to hook them up because it already comes with the extended wires you just hook them up to the turning signals or bumper marker and they work perfectly.
DARK SHOT how did you hook them up to the parking bumper lights? I want mine to run exactly like yours does, Did you use a wire tap? I don't know what to use to get the positive wire hooked up :/
The parking bumper light has two wire to it i used a wire tap to connect the fog lights positive light to one of those wires test to see which one gives a positive signal when the car lights are on, then wires the negative wire directly to the battery's negative terminal.
6ix God ok so i actually removed the bottom engine cover just enough to stick my hand and a screw driver inside the back of the bumper. the only thing holding the fog covers in place is that one screw in the back of it, but be warned the space is so tight i had to you a socket wrench with a screw driver head to maneuver it between the bumper and the chassis components, all in all this was the longest step. After you have the new fog lights in there make sure you tie rap the wires to the bumper or chassis you dont want them running loose.
Yeah headlights are you running well I asked that before. There’s got to be thousands of headlights bulbs all over the board with prices I can’t figure that shit out how far they get Down the road. And they’re talking about pattern how well you can see. Diode Dynamics Once150. a set
well with hids you really get what you pay for. if you buy a cheap 30 dollar set it will last 5-9 months if you buy a more expansive one it can last years. the ones i bought i got them November 2016 and they are still going and keep in mind they also run in the day time due to the auto light feature. this is the link to the same ones i bought : rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_id=114&ipn=icep&toolid=20004&campid=5338072800&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FInnovited-AC-55w-HID-Kit-H4-H7-H11-H13-9003-9005-9006-9007-6000K-Hi-Lo-Bi-Xenon%2F251534376007%3Fhash%3Ditem3a909dfc47%3Am%3Amo2t-iYuDdYcVi8SlB1QVxA%3Asc%3AUSPSPriorityMailPaddedFlatRateEnvelope!33136!US!-1
awesome just bought mine. but iam trying to see how too install them. one thing you didnt show how you installed them. You said u connected it to the side markers but u didnt show how you did it? the purpose of making a video on how to install something u have to show step by step for ppl trying to get advice from you.
I agree, not one of my more detailed videos I have pinned a response to hopefully help with the lack of information on my part. If you need further assistance let me know I would be happy to help.
I put the link the my other video where you can see them below: H13 9008 HI LO / 10k little blue color ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AD5NYi96qfw.html
In order to take off the fake fog light panel, do you need to remove anything else? or can you just go straight to removing the screw from the fake panel and push them out?
hi man i have chevy cruze model 2011, and i heared that replacing hallogen with leds just like u did can cause electricity problems in the car is it true ?
I’m not exactly sure why that would be happening maybe the connection you made. It is on a power circuit that turns off during daylight running lights are turned off try putting the power to a more constant source that turns on when the car turns on
Hey bro, the wires for my lights came with metal prongs attached to the end of them. Is there a differnt way I can connect my fog lights? I was thinking maybe to the car battery itself, but perhaps that's to much voltage. Lmk thanks!
You can connect the lights negative to the battery directly but the positive will have to be striped and connect to a head light or blinker power supply in order to turn them on together. You can connect it to the batteries but you have to add a switch that way we won't stay on all and only you can flick it on, still I suggest a headlight or blinker that way you don't have to worry about being left on or off
unfortunately no usually cars that do not offer the fog light tend to not have the wiring nor the switch as it would be considered extra work for loose wires but the good news is my model did not bring any fogs lights neither and yet i used this kit to hook them up because it already comes with the extended wires you just hook them up to the turning signals or bumper marker and they work perfectly.
I have a 2014 Chevy Cruze LT. It didn't come with any fog lights installed. GM offers an aftermarket fog light kit for around $200. The kit includes the lights, a wiring harness and also includes a replacement dash switch which looks exactly like the headlight switch that the car already comes with, but includes a button for turning the fog lights on and off. This kit will fit all Chevy Cruze models, but I'm not sure about the ones with the RS package installed. www.ebay.com/itm/95248415-2011-2014-Chevrolet-Cruze-Complete-OEM-Fog-Lamp-Kit-/271853240066
The parking bumper light has two wire to it i used a wire tap to connect the fog lights positive light to one of those wires test to see which one gives a positive signal when the car lights are on, then wires the negative wire directly to the batterys negative terminal.
@@DARKSHOT1 How do I connect the wires though, like do I just wrap them around? Also I'm. not sure how to make the red wire reach the side marker on the bumper and as well as connected to it.
@@TurtleMofo12468 get some wore taps to merge the wires, if the positive doesn't reach find a spare wire to extend it but honestly it should reach perfectly, I will see if I can get a pic of the wires merged
Michael Costeline I have the stock headlights with a pair of hid 8k lights. I have another video that shows the headlights and where you can buy them just look for my prior videos.
Pop out the parking bumper light then it has two wire to it i used a wire tap to connect the fog lights positive light to one of those wires test to see which one gives a positive signal when the car lights are on, then wires the negative wire directly to the battery's negative terminal
Can you do a video with installing wired led interior lights? I have mine jumped off the dome light but I don’t want to keep it like that I want to have them be on if I want or be off and turn on with the dome light
For that type of installation you will have to have a switch interrupting the power from the dome light mostly what people do is they wire to the cigarette lighter that only turns on with the car but in your case if you want to have it on or off when you want to a switch is the only way to do that
I hooked it up to the side bumper light because i wanted it on constantly, but if you hook it up to the turning signal you would have to wire it to the relay wire of the turning signal that's the one that sends intermediate power problem is you have to check if the wire is sending electricity constantly or else it will only light when your turning.
That is so weird! The front bumper for the cruze from 2011-2014 should be just like mine even the ltz model, the only one year the bumper was upgraded was 2015 that's when they added the chrome trim to the around of the fog lights edge and made them bigger?
