So in order to change the transmission filter you have to dismantle the whole car? Shit this is going to cost me a hell of money. Chevrolet cars are worthless.
I have never encountered a transmission in a car like this that couldn’t be removed by dropping the frame. Maybe this is one of them, but generally you put the engine holder up top and can lower it down enough until there is room. I always thought it to be easier. But I never actually tried it your way. What ended up being the actual time it took? Sure , there is always the estimated and adjusted time. People tend not to include the time of making mistakes because of the ego. But there is always mistakes and things that go wrong. It just seems like it must be more time to do all that engine stuff
The wave plate is the big issue in these transmissions. they use the same transmission in the Fords but they almost never go bad, they don't have the torque the GMs have.
I appreciate the information Robert. I can pull this engine and transmission. In about an hour and a half. Next time I do this I will try it your way and see what happens. I suppose it wouldn’t be bad if you were doing it in the driveway because getting the cradle out would take up a lot less space so I suppose that’s a possibility if you’re working in the driveway
Not the transmission and engine at the same time I’m sure if you removed the engine first from the top you could remove the transmission from the top, but I don’t think both of them will come out at the same time
It’s kind of a 50-50 thing I’ve installed them and have them work just fine and sometimes I have to clear the transmission codes with the scanner sorry wish I had a more definitive answer for you

No I’m very very sorry I do not know that off the top of my head. But if you’re having transmission problems unfortunately all of my experience it has never been a speed sensor but I don’t know what scenario you’re working with so I could be mistaken I wish you the best of luck. I actually live in Grand Rapids, Mi and I have a 2011 Chevy equinox and im looking to swap out transmissions. How much is that going to cost me after I buy the transmission
For me to do it or for someone else to do it? If I was to do it I would be right around $700 plus fluids etc. I’m assuming most other places would be A little more but I don’t know because I don’t check other shops. I wish you the best with that have a great day

Hello sir, i am trying to replace that driver side mounting, do i need to just loosen the cross member or remove it entirely just to replace that mounting? Do i need to remove the left? shock absorber?
Does anyone know if a used 2010 awd equinox transmission can be swapped into my 2011 awd equinox? Also I would imagine taking the trans out from underneath would be easier and cheaper for any home mechanic. Won't lose antifreeze, fuel, A/C charge. I mean most people don't have an A/C recovery machine laying around. Also Less chance of breaking bolts, wires, connectors, hoses, exhaust bolts....ect. Just saying.
@DazeyCustomWorks Just make sure the option code is the same for example MH7 or something else. Yes I've replaced them from the bottom removing the subframe. It's quite a bit of work but nothing is very difficult. The hardest part is setting the transmission back in and aligning the bolts. You can make this a lot easier by spending $80-$100 on a transmission support bracket for your standard jack.

Well. I have the same car. Two places say I need another. Transmission. I can't afford it. On Drive only 2 gear works that is it. I use myanuel only barely 3rd bit 4th and 5th is fine but not 6th. Usually I go to M iay have it stuck on 2. I turn off my car go into M.. I see M1 then I can shift care fully to 3 quickly to 4th. I drive o ly 65 miles per hour on the freeway stay at 2.5 rpms Now I have to park it. The transmission oil is dark. Both car repairs say it is eternal. Pieces of something she might be in my solenoids but I have a question can I just do a transmission oil change or a flush to get it to last longer I need it for work
Basically my auto drive don't workat be stuck on gear D2. Autoatic. I don't use it. If my Manuel is stuck on "2" I turn car off turn back on go to M see if it is M1 then I can drive faster shift by to appijg my. Gas peddle till M4.
I hardly doubt you can do a transmission filter and fluid and it will help anything it’s more than likely internal sorry for that I wish I could tell you an affordable thing that you could do but unfortunately I don’t no one
Mine starting to get bad 2008 Chevy equinox transmission. Had four half year's sadly average person can't check Tranny fluid why the maid it difficult to check Hmm. I told my wife her son helped burn it up because it sat for two weeks then I drove it was fine xmas week we left town found out he was driving it without permission. She not understand it don't take much tear up and older car driving foolish she believe his story only took it once but there was a Rap hit list CD over the visor some mothers just turn blind EYe. Why touch something you can't pay for Because mommy spoils me.
