It surprised me when you said they hid the keys for the vehicle and the doors were unlocked. That's not hiding anybody could have taken that vehicle. Great recovery and thank you for sharing

Thanks for the video. The problem sounds familiar to me. I remember from my work that there was masking tape in the tank and the fuel sucked up. If the vehicle was standing for a certain time, the problem went away and the suction of the fuel pump sucked the masking tape back in over time.

I know all manufacturers have their problems. I was looking at a newish 1/2 ton. I skipped over Chevy and ended up with a 2021 Tundra with 6K miles.

My cousin bought a brand new one about a year ago. He went about 100 miles north to pick it up and he tried to drive it home. It quit a few miles from the dealership

There is a shaft that sticks out of the side of the transmission that looks like a shift cable should hook to it if it had one. That is the park pawl manual release. The special tool is a cable type device that hooks to it so you can manually turn it. We usually use a small wrench to turn it and then use a bolt in the trans case to hold the wrench because the shaft is spring loaded. Once that is done you have to get the parking brake released but it doesn’t like to stay released sometimes we unplug the rear calipers to get them to stay released. It is a process to get it to roll. There is no way I would attempt to do it while a vehicle was on the side of the road. Even at the dealer we got to the point where we just called a tow truck to come pick them out out of the parking lot and bring them in the shop.

I think I know why you can't get these in neutral. If it's anything like the Dodge's with the electric shifters, it will automatically go into park if it see that the door is open AND the seatbelt is unbuckled; this is an anti-rollaway system. Try buckling up the seatbelt and it should stay in neutral. I can't say with 100% certainty that that will do it, I haven't touched a new GM in 14 years now. Love your content, keep it coming 😎

It would seem that such a huge corporation like Chevrolet would realize that there is an issue with the fuel pump and take care of it before it becomes an issue, but it's been three years now, and it still isn't fixed? Sounds like someone doesn't give a """" about resolving the issue so people will buy more of these

i finally learned how to get the push button start to turn on without starting it by turning it on acc then push and hold till the dash lights up on the 15-20 GM

After all these years, GM still can't make reliable fuel pump assembly / modules.
