Chevy Orlando hatch button replacement (Cruze, other models) 

I went to check your other repair videos but it seems you're not actively posting and were battling health issues. I just wanted to wish you the best and thank you for posting this video. It helped me greatly.

Thanks for this. Helped me diagnose what was wrong with mine. Turned out to be water damage. Stripped the wire and the copper was black. Trimmed it back about an inch, stripped again, and the copper was fine.

The part about the getting the lift gate open is confusing because when you take the plastic cap off and look into the hole you will see a button that looks like the one in the video. That's not it. To see the button on the video you have to lie flat on you stomach and look into the hole with a flashlight, then you will see the square hole that you have to turn to open the lift gate. I tried a 3/8 extension but it was too big, so I just used a wide flat screwdriver. The screwdriver has to be held parallel to the floor to fit into the hole, and then it's a simple matter to turn it. I messed around with this for an hour after watching the video before I figured it out. Great video otherwise and very helpful!

I had the same problem with my Orlando. This switch is common to many GM vehicles. I got one on ebay GM part number 13393912 and it was identical to the OE failed unit. Genuine part £15, chinese copy £10, I went for gen. Snip the wires, solder and insulate and you're done.

Hey my 2013 has a backup camera, the wiring harness I bought doesn't and naturally the end plug is totally different.... If I can get just the switch out of the damn black plastic piece then I will cut the new switch of the new harness.. Any trick to popping the switch out of the black plastic piece?

When you first popped the trunk did you just push the flat head into the metallic square bit?

What kind of tool do you use for open the hatch if the Orlando.?

save yourself some trouble and find the connector on the inside of the hatch. disconnect it and jumper the 2 wires if it works you know its the button well before you take it all appart and snip it.

I see you using the screwdriver to open the liftgate but I cant see what the actual action is to get it to open... I have opened my access to the manual opener but am unable to get it to work... what are you actually doing in there? (the area is blocked by your hand in the video.

Hi i have a questioni i bought the switch , would it be possible just to prick the switch then cut the wire and join the wire of the new awitch ..without removing everything?

Opened the cap have something to poke it but what did you touch to get the trunk open cant figure it out?

I have my Orlando since 9 years and it is the 4 th. time i change the Touchpad. The 3 th time i change it my self but one year later it was out again. So for the 4 th time i went to the dealer to change it and one mounth later it was defect again. Now i am angry on the dealer work. I use frequently the touchpad avery day. It must have a reel probleme.
