I pay for the Wi-Fi service so even in the mountains with no cell service I can use the spark as a Wi-Fi hub!! I also have installed roof racks for snowboarding, my 29in bike, kyak, and I have also hauled fencing material on the racks. Last edition was the tow package. It's the tires. Mine were dry rotted at 9k. They were Kuomo or whatever. I purchased an extended warranty that cost me around $1,800 to extend the factory warranty. Chevrolet or the warranty company wouldn't replace the tires. The CVT transmission is bad. Though, I've averaged almost 32 mpg combined with not even 29k.
@ernhuse7636
@ernhuse7636 2 года назад
It's a fun little car, needs refined, and better tires. Chevrolet CVTs are trash. It effortlessly hits 110 plus, because of it's weight. If it had the 1.4 turbo, like the Sonic, it would be a monster. Better tires, better engineering. I've had mine 4 years, and I love it. I'm actually looking at a 2022 LT special edition.

I have a 2017 manual transmission spark and I absolutely love it. It’s not the fanciest thing out there but god damn it gets me where I want to go anywhere no problem. It’s fast and nimble, fits everywhere, and is so fun to drive. I have all the basics, CarPlay/ navigation, backup camera, the heat and ac work great, and the best in my opinion is the uphill brake assist (because it’s a manual). I didn’t even know that was a thing till I had this but boy do I love it and appreciate it so much. Based off your video I feel like the experience of an automatic vs a stick might be pretty different. Yeah my car isn’t the most powerful thing out there but I feel like I can get going fast pretty damn easy because of the manual trans. It’s simple, it gets good gas mileage and it’s nimble and preppy and I can scoot out sketchy situations no problem. I honestly love my car so much. If I could change anything I wish it was a modern Suzuki jimmny lol more space in the back to put stuff and 4wl drive. Otherwise I think it’s great and it works for me, so far it haven’t let me down.

I'm not intrested in Smokin US 30 drag raceway acceleration, I made 45 mpg on a trip at 70mph loaded with luggage and ac. Chevy says you can get a Trax now that Spark is discontinuing. Nope Chevy not spending 6k more, will go to your competition. Got my 2013 for 11k, the 2014 for 10k and the 2020 12.6k off the lot.

I've got a 2020 Spark going on almost two years now. I also have an Audi Q5 Prestige which is not my everyday, drive to work, car. They are both great cars; however, the Audi is much more comfortable to drive in. The Spark was never meant to be comfortable. However, it is reliable, drivable, and economical transportation. I've been diligent in changing the oil, checking the tires and fluids. Also, the Spark is better and more fun to drive than my '69 Mustangs and '74 Grand Prix. And I managed to hit 100 MPH going downhill; and, does 80+ without complaints.

Its probably a better choice to go mid tier with like a Camry for 25k. You have to keep in mind, this car is on the lowest end of the spectrum, meaning it looks god awful and the interior is trash tier. With a Camry, you get a much better looking car and it holds its value well, so if you sell it, you lose the same amount as you would going with the Chevy Spark.

I just put in an order for a 2022 LS with manual transmission. Stick shift is on the endangered species list, and I seriously don't like auto transmissions, and despise CVTs, so I wanted to snap up a 5 speed go cart while I still can. Honestly, I would be willing to pay EXTRA for something with a clutch. Same goes for the manual windows, mirrors and locks. Last time I drove with passengers in the back seat was 10 years ago, so everything behind the front seats will be cargo space. The Spark fits exactly what I need. 20 more HP would be nice, granted, but with the manual, I can just let it rev a little more before shifting. If the deal comes through, I might be getting one of the last ones off the assembly line, and am pretty excited.

Bought a brand new automatic 2020 Spark that now has about 36k on it. My only complaint is it is not speedy to accelerate, but once it's going it is smooth. So smooth I have to put on cruise control, or I will go too fast. My car has NEVER shaken at 80 mph. Another downside is it's not quiet in the cabin especially if you're on worn roads. Interior materials are not luxury. On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd say I love this car about an 8. People not needing a lot of room can get a lot out of this car. Great city car. Great gas mileage. Soooo easy to get in and out of spaces (LOVE that).

I replaced the tires with ones slightly wider and found a spare tire and jack for it, they didn't have spare tires until later years. It has been reliable and is fun to drive but it is no race car but will cruise at highway speeds all day getting 43 mpg. Too bad this is the last month of production for them.

I have owned three chevy Sparks. My first thought is you should put 92 octane for the best performance. Also, the transmission works best with a higher octane fuel as well. My guess is the engine vacuum from better combustion handles the transmission better. For those of you that own a Spark be sure to change the transmission fluid at 30,000 miles. The audio system and Bluetooth connectivity are much better than other vehicles I have owned. The spark is a huge success for Chevrolet sold in 63 countries around the world. It is a car not entirely meant for American roads. Its best described by my experience as ideally suited for a Caribbean island five miles long. The 2016 model and above is a vastly better car than the 2015 and earlier models. In my experience, the spark is not one to drive forcing acceleration hard from a stop light. Risking damage to the transmission is to be avoided however highway speeds are quite comfortable once up to speed. Stopping and turning are very precise making it lots of fun to drive.

I agree. I have a 21 base model. Manual windows, no cruise but excellent AC and radio. Agree on the CVT. I have 18K on mine and will make sure it get's the transmission serviced at 30K. It's a great commuter and Iv'e even been on a fairly long trip with it. Phoenix to Tucson. But I've been wary of taking it in the other direction, up north to Flagstaff. Becuase we have some of the steepest grades on the Interstate system north of Phoenix. But seeing this video makes me think I'll give it a try.

bought mine used(it had 41,000) and it has 65,000 on it now.. had a minor issue with it (carbon buildup causing a misfire) but that was on me because i was getting excellent gas mileage by lugging the gears (manual transmission) so i bought that gumout multi system cleaner and three tankful's later the engine light is off and it is running smooth..so now every once in awhile i stomp on it..and i'm still averaging 41.1mpg.

I got it for $12.5k for LT1 version, almost 80k on it, zero issues, great gas milage, perfect car for a city. You can disable function of door locking. You simply don't know car you are talking about-the-museum. We did 3k miles road trip with 4 people in it, it was fine.

I love my 2018 Spark, and I take care of it to the point that people have asked if it's brand new on four different occasions in the last year. Before that, I had a Chevy Metro hatchback - it lasted 19 years!!!!! This will be my last Chevy after driving them nonstop for 47 years as a protest of their discontinuance of all subcompact cars since they stopped production on the Spark this year. It baffles me - people bitch about gas prices as they drive off in their gas-guzzler that's far bigger than they need. (I call those PRVs for "p*nis replacement vehicles".) Maybe Big Oil is giving carmakers kickbacks to stop producing gas-saving cars?

I just got a 2020 spark. I love light small cars. Dieing breed. It's a 90s subcompact made with newer parts. I got rolly windows 😂 nothing weighing it down. I do want to upgrade the suspension though. He's not wrong about the body roll 😅😅

I'm currently driving a 2009 Chevy Spark LS got 198 000 on the clock and drives like a dream,It can fit anywhere which makes parking it very easy, it's my first car and has never given me issues, of coarse it's not made for comfort but sure does make a lot of economic sense,the funny thing is I didn't even like it when I bought it just wanted a car to take me from A to B but that thing made love to me and I love it back

I hate to break it to you, but the spark has little to no give and the body is firm firm firm. I’ve had mine for almost 6 months now- a 2018 with 65k kms on it. I think perhaps your complaints regarding body roll have to do with your own body rolling on the admittedly flimsy seats with inadequate leg support for those of us with more volume ourselves. As for the transmission sucking, that’s probably true. But if you had a manual you would know it really is a blast on windy roads. Small car fast is always more fun than fast car slow. Ps. It’s a 1.4L 98hp sewing machine under the hood.

Those are cool little cars to trick out you could lower them it's got a 4x100 wheel pattern which is common for all the cool Wheels out there in a 15 it also comes in a stick shift which a lot of them don't I would ditch that automatic that's a Cvtand nothing's a dog . But the reason why Chevy still making him is because it was one of the most popular selling small cars that they ever had and it had the highest ratings, I have a Chevy Sonic from 2013 RS they discontinued that car due to all the problems that it was having with the turbo models the PCV was faulty and all kinds of different components would go out on it all the time. But yet the Chevy spark is still going strong I would like to get a model from about 3 years ago slam it down on the ground with the 4x100 wheel pattern I can use arrow racing wheels I could use a ton of different choices of wheels in a 15 inch size get it in the stick shift that car will be a blast even though it's not fast straight pipe it.

have a 2021 base model with 5 speed manual, paid little over 12K new. Love the simplicity, fun to drive and very economical. In there beginning my buddies were making fun of it (including my wife) but they weren't laughing when gas was hitting over $5/Gal. It's not a Toyota but hey I could have bought two for the price. When I get a wild hair I'll just drive my Camaro SS. THE SPARK RULES !!!

Gets around central florida pretty well and I actually fit comfortably...just take my back seat out and use it as a larger truck space 🤣

Dear followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service, the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep your money safe.!!!Share so more people don't get screwed.GM is a big bluff

Not a terrible video review so I will reluctantly give you a like. And you have some great visuals, but I will give you some serious advice to work on your language skills. Think about what you're going to say, practice your word phrases, think professional, think grown up. Don't laugh or be silly. Learn to ad lib without actually sounding like you're making it up along the way.
