Thank you so much for the video! Can confirm, this is definitely a 15 minute job. Personally, I skipped the disconnecting the battery part and just went to a empty field to try and get the old one off. The horn only went off twice and it was off in less than 5 minutes with no damage to the steering wheel.
Was contemplating removing the actual airbag just to get my emblem switched. However I came across this video and decided to say “fuck it” if he did it that easily maybe I can too. Sure enough was a very simple task! Switched out the old one for a new one and BAM! Looks brand new! Thanks bud, not many videos that show how to do this!
These are great instructions, but here is a crucial tip if you are serious about replacing the emblem. Make sure the current emblem can actually be removed before you buy a new one. If it has been glued on thoroughly and sealed around the edges (which was totally unnecessary but is not noticeable if it was done neatly), you will not be able to pry the current emblem off without damaging the steering wheel.
The time spent prying the emblem out you could have properly removed the airbag and done this the right way. You do not have to take the steering wheel apart. There are two pin holes, one on each side of the steering wheel to release the airbag. After that, there are literally just 4 small nuts to remove the module to allow access to the emblem. An experienced mechanic could do this in under 10 mins. The emblem will be fully seated without the risk of damaging anything. This video is flat out a bad idea

This is awesome I dented mine one day and couldn't find a video on how to take it out to try and fix the dent ( didn't know if maybe there were like screws or you needed to take off the back) did like you and bought a new one for under 20$ on Amazon, did you end up thinking you need the glue behind it?

Guys do yourself a huge favor take wire cutters and on the tabs take about a centimeter off bending it back and forth with your wire cutter and applying pressure it’ll go right in and fit flush with the steering wheel you’re welcome 🙌🏻
Thanks! My SS button isn't on my SS that I bought 2nd hand..I want to buy a SS button but they're hard to find..kinda have to buy an airbag (kit) to get one. Any ideas?
Be careful I just did mine and took the cover off the airbag, those tabs go in and bend down over the inner lip, if you just shove it in like that those tabs will sit right up against the air bag itself and will cut into the airbag!
beware don't do this when the airbag deploys the emblem is going to hit you in the face might take you eye out do it the right way take off the air bag and bend the clips back. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1q4ux1CQVG4.html
