Anyone who knocks the Tahoe for reliability is an idiot. As you said in the review the 5.3 Vortec can regularly be found with 300k+ miles. These things are tanks and run forever. Electrical things and smaller issues may come up down the line but again, as you mentioned, drivetrain is fantastic.
@Chris Johnson Funny you say that because in October I picked up an 05 V8 4x4 4Runner limited hahaha. What are the odds?? I would have loved a Tahoe too but customer traded this in and I needed a family camping/light off road rig. The Tahoe is more comfy and bigger but the 4Runner is more capable for recreational stuff.
Got a 2010 just passed 270k not a single light & runs high 9s to the 1/8th on e85 completely stock 5.3 with the good 799s & a straight pipe exhaust afm/dod delete helps a lot, I say it to everyone best purchase on a vehicle I made so far as reliability & stoutness
Funny thing, base LS to me is the future classic, more Utility in the SUV name, base LS is only slightly less powerful, believe just a different stroke, no cylinder deactivation that will fail, no air ride or magtech suspension that is great when works but will fail but you get same good styling with model cheaper to repair with less to break. I love my GMT900 and have for past 13 years but swear by the LS trim.
The energy management system kills that engine ! Also any chevy truck model built in 2007 and above is tend to know with differential issue. GM quality is no longer as it used to be.
Does anyone know if there is a difference between the LT and LTZ center console lid on the 2007-2014? I wanted to install a boost mobile wireless charger, but they said in only will fit the LTZ model. My 07 looks exactly like the one they installed in their video, however when I spoke with them about it, they said its different! Thanks
Just got a 2010 tahoe like it but doesn't comes with cup holders guess am going have to buy them maybe next yr in 2025 al get a 2023 or 24 see what happens..
You will NEVER find one of these under 100k.. 200 ain't bad by any means.. they are built to go 500.. the last suburban I owned had 399k on it when I sold her... I recently acquired an 09 with 218k and it's just as beasty as it was new!!!
@@montgomerylewis6176 9k is kinda high... but that's today's market thanks to covid... however, depending on the year and mileage you may have a solid deal on ya hands bro!!!
Good grief -- QUESTION -- If you are not aware of why there is hard plastic on the top dashboard, it is because there is no other material known to man that works better in that place. The sun will destroy, absolutly destroy, any other material that is used there. It is also perfect because due to condesation on the windows (at times) the water that falls onto the dash will destroy, over time, any "soft touch" material. Be careful what you wish for. They tried all the soft stuff in the 70s and 80s and it all split, teared, and faded and is ruined inside 5 years. That dash is over 15 years old and is still like new. Just wipe it and forget about it. So stop complaining. One day you will wish your car had that exact plastic dash top.
@@DrivenCompanion I heard when the cylinder deactivate has problem you have big problem? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wJeGjoNWl3E.html
I never much cared for the the gen 3s and higher models, I still have my gen 2 2005 z71 4x4 Hoe with 281,000 miles on her. Other then brakes, tires, fluids and ball joints they only cost so far has been a water pump. Not too bad. Lastly those 20 inch rims suck for any kind of off roading, a better direction for GM to go would have been to offer a 16 inch rim and more aggressive tires.
