My son and I rebuild the front suspension control arms on our 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. This truck is same as Envoy and Bravada, but the some of the steps might apply to other vehicles. Follow along as we complete this necessary project. It wasn't easy, but we got it done with the tools we have. Definitely improved the ride. Here is the list of parts that we used:
Upper Control Arm Bushings: www.amazon.com...
Upper Ball Joint: www.amazon.com...
Front Left Stabilizer Link: www.amazon.com...
Lower Front Control Arm Bushing: www.amazon.com...
Lower Rear Control Arm Bushing: www.amazon.com...
Front Lower Shock Bushing: www.amazon.com...

One thing I just noticed, you should have jacked each side up using a jack under the lower ball joint area before tightening the upper control and lower control arm bushings. Just enough to lift the side you are working on off of the support stand. This pre-loads the bushing at the point where they will be normally be for the rest of their life. Not doing this will twist the rubber off of the bushings in a few years.

Good video and great teamwork. You're both on the right track.

28:13 That adapter just behind your left foot goes between the top of the ball joint shaft and the forcing screw. It's shaped inside to center the shaft and not let the forcing screw walk off the top.

Was it worth it? Time and money? I know the entire set is $140.00 from RockAuto but DIY seems worth it to me. I will doing this next year but have a 12 ton press.

I wanted to do Moog brand, because I have had good success with their products. It would have been a lot more for assembled pieces so it was worth it for me. The lower control arms were really hard to get the bushings out with the tools I have. So I would recommend buying those preassembled unless you want to take on the challenge. Should have lowered the vehicle before tightening the control arm bushing bolts.

Great vid and helper. You need to get your helper and future mechanic a workbench, vise, and both of you safety glasses. Thanks for the effort

Dry ice the bushings (before inserting) for an hour or two ahead of time and grease the threads on that tool! Nice video.

Would you please tell the OEMTools adapter set tool kit number, not the press, but the adapter set?

You can rent this kit from Autozone or similar set from any other parts store. I believe the part number is 27310. Thank you for watching. Please support the channel by subscribing.

That lower control arm bushing with the threads was an absolute nightmare for me today. I done gave up, called into work and planned on taking it to a shop to get it pressed out. Also had the same problem with that larger bracket bushing. Never thought to cut it short, thanks for the video!
