2015 Chevy Trax oil and Filter Change. DIY oil Change can save you a few bucks while keeping your engine running well. Brought to you by Quick Stop Mobile Oil Change Don't Come To Us, We'll Come To You
Since getting sick I've had to do a lot of DIY cause of $ issues. I know changing the oil seems simple to most but when you've never done it before as with anything you need to know the steps. YOU MY FRIEND PROVIDED THE STEPS AND I WAS SUCCESSFUL!
Fantastic video the reason why I do my oil change is the shop loves to jack the filter cap on and the drain plug, even though it says right on the oil cap 25Nm and on the pan it says 14Nm
Killer video man,I offered to do this tomorrow as a favor and although I have done many oil changes in my life I always like to know what's waiting for me,thanks
I got it done, worked perfectly, the location of that oil filter is easy as pie, seeing that wooble kinda had me thinking but once I was there it was easy, wish the filter on my old Mustang was that easy , lol
Have a 2018 and it is same engine 1.4 L . Thank you for video. It is first time I am going to do it instead of dealership. 1st time is always the worse but after that its a breeze.
Great job but you didn't throw GM under the bus for the 10mm on the drain plug. 3rd oil change on my 2018 Trax the damn thing rounded off. $17 for the replacement part!
My wife has the same car, just got it in March, went to change the oil last night and the damn bolt rounded off. Well let me back up.......I went to put the 10mm socket on and I saw ir wasn't fitting very snug. It went on but didn't feel tight on the bolt head as it should. Me being the impatient person that I am, plus working all week outside in 101 degree heat, I decided that I HAD to get the damn thing off so I went for it and sure enough I rounded the bolt all the way off when it was initially just partly rounded. Got a bolt extractor socket set and all it did was chew the plug up even further. Bolt must have been made out of billet aluminum for it to be as soft as it was. Grinded a groove it it and tried to loosen it with a large flathead screwdriver and still wasn't coming off. The jackals that previously owned the car, or the jackass who worked at the quick lube place where the car was taken must have torqued the bastard down with an impact wrench as tight as it was on. The head of the plug bolt broke off in the bolt extractor socket!! Was damn near Fused to the oil pan. Eventually got it off by grinding the bolt down. The flange of the bolt was grinded off and it finally broke loose. Fun times! Moral of the story .........NEVER take your car to a quick lube shop, I generally never do, I change my oil and my wife's. It's cheaper and shit doesn't get screwed up lol. Your videos on point though .........other than the dipshit screwing up the oil drain plug it was pretty easy to do the rest. Oil filter was easily accessible. Took maybe 15 minutes to do after the drain plug was replaced.
