They still play it in the clubs in Philly where the line dance. It's a favorite. It's hot. So soulful. It doesnt even sound like something the Chi Lites would make. But its slammin.

This is one of many of my favorite oldies cha cha classic song. But you wana see me really get down. All the real steppers that line dance to this song knows that this is the one. Lets go Butterball Roaddogs🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃
ME TOO! I'm 72 yrs old now and also heard it on WDAS FM when it used to be strictly "soul" (and R&B). I searched and searched and finally discovered it was an album cut. Just recently had a hankering to hear it and found this You Tube version.
YEEEEESSSS my brother worked there for many years .... and butterball was such a gentleman i damn .. what memories!!!. E. Steven i miss you and oh boy am i pissed with you .
Bob, thank you for those words because I grew up in Delaware. I hung out at a club on 7th & Arch Street. This was and still is one of my all time favorites.
A major dance tune that is in the rotation on Sundays when WDAS the Butter, Patty Jackson and Andre the Giant broadcast 7:00pm-11:00pm from the Pinnacle club in Philly on Arch Street. WDAS KEEPS THE REAL R&B ALIVE!!!!!!
Baixei essa música para a minha mãe que é apaixonada e acabei usando em meu casamento! I Donloaded this song to my mom....she loves this song and chi lites and i used the same song in my wedding day!... It's soooooooo nice!
I am so late, the first time I heard this song was maybe a year ago, and didn't know who song it. Last month I want to a birthday party and heard it, than asked the DJ who song it, when he told me the Chi-lites I was to through. Now I am a totally old school music lover, and when it came out I was station in Hawaii in the early 80's. I love this song so much that I brought a vinyl copy off of Amazon for $16.00. Now I got to found some one who can mix to a 12".
I love the Chi-Lites what an Amazing Group love the Instruments they don't make music like this anymore you should check out their Greatest Hits💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
LYRICS You say my cologne Reminds you of someone else That's kinda cold, girl But go on and be yourself You can tell me Whatever's on your mind That's what I want to know I plan to make you mine Try my side of love Darlin', come on You say my smile reminds you Of someone that you knew I'm so glad there are memories That will fade like memories do I offer to love You've heard that before But after this love You won't need no more Try my side of love 'Cause I won't wait till you try Try my side of love Try, try my side of love I won't give till you try Try my side of love Try, try my side of love
Fui D.J. no Rio nos anos 70. Mixava ao vivo e sem auxílio de computador. Dava qualquer coisa pra voltar no tempo....A gente envelhece, mas a música não.....
CEDRIC FLOWERS This is my first time hearing this song , like all of there other songs, I love the Chi-lites music and it’s a treat to hear something that I’ve never heard from them !
I remember this tune from a club in hackney where I helped out DJaying, Goochis and also Epping Forest Country Club and certaining Gregg Edwards what a star
Used to get steam mad with those DJs here in Brazil when they insisted tunning it on the local radio stations back then, by playing the short version of this song only. Eventually they'd even cut shorter for running damm commercials. Thank you for sharing this masterpiece.
infelizmente hoje não temos música dessa qualidade para realizar uma boa degustação musical, porém a Internet nesse ponto nos ajuda a termos boas lembranças musicais. ..
Despite their best period being in the 70s when they had hits like "Have You Seen Her" & Oh Girl, the Chilites came out with some good club dancers such as this heavy B lined stomper in 1982 as they embraced a new generation of fans to newer material
