Size is calculated from partials, partials vary with network difficulty. netspace going from 23 to 30 EB has obviously diluted earnings. the big question for halving will be if the market has absorbed the prefarm sales. Interesting to see the video with the zimma board at a PB, IMO it won't be up to the task at twice the partials. have a look at drive sleep settings with the seagates, they're set to spin down by default.
Thanks for the advice Steve. I looked at the USB settings and they did have a setting switched on to allow Windows to choose to switch off devices. Will see in time if that changes anything. Will also look at command line tools to see if the 16TB Seagate's are set to spin down at any point.
