Excellent Videos from Randy & Joy, I will have to visit this coffee shop when I get there in September. I like Cafe Caliente in the Pa Deat sub district near my brother's home and excellent coffee (Roast's onsite) beans from Myanmar owner On also has Iced coffee in cans he also produces at the shop. Very good Korean food as well very reasonable prices. Hidden Gem for sure.
I really enjoyed this video, and think a follow up with the 2nd and 3rd best coffee shops and ambience surroundings would be well received; include prices, too, would be great!
Hey Rick , Your girl friend makes your channel . She is such a sweet heart . Your ok too . 😂😂 Just kidding. I really enjoy the channel . Thanks for sharing guys !!! 😁
Looks like a great activity to do when first in Chiang Mai: Visiting a different coffee shop every morning! Especially if the shops have such beautiful surroundings!
Love the idea if you can fit through certain sections of the structure you get a discount. And you get a discount for leaving your phone in the box. Your breakfasts looked delicious.
My favourite coffee shop is the Cafe de Oasis, opposite the CM exhibition and Convention Centre . Super beautiful, comfortable, scenic and not only quality coffee but food too. The ambiance (!) is 5 star. Pardon MY french!
I didn't know that. Thanks, Orowan, for the info. Yes I really enjoy going there for coffee or tea. Joy and I are the only people sitting on the patio as we don't mind the heat. Usually everyone else is inside. Really a nice quiet little patio unlike all the places on the street if you prefer outside.
Thanks, Jim! Nice to hear from you in Australia. Yes, Joy is wonderful and I recognize I'm lucky. And thanks for the observation I'm a nice guy! I hope to see you again here. Best wishes.
Thank for reply , I’m very lucky like, you I have a very lovely Thai lady , I’ve, been there twice love it , been trying to get her a tourist visa 4 times in the last year , they keep knocking it back , she will not return , that’s not fair because she is coming to Australia for holiday and returning , anyway we are doing no 5 this week . Love your video , you are more my age and makes sense to me , very interesting.regards Jim
@@jimbabos8195 Sorry to hear about the visa difficulties, Jim. I hope she gets approved next time, but if not, coming to Thailand is something to look forward to, especially when you have a life partner here waiting for you, so you are lucky there.
Such a nice video !! I liked and subscribed. Chiang Mai seems wonderful to me. Great for ex-pats, cheap rent, great wifi, great food and coffee, close to airport, easy to travel north to make a "visa run", and looking forward to Joy's Thai language lessons. Planning to visit Chiang Mai in a year or so. so glad I found your youtube channel !!
Thanks so much, Arthur! That is great you will check out Joy's channel. And I"m glad you will be checking out Chiang Mai soon. I hope our videos help you know some good places to go. Best wishes!
Some people treasure, golf, gardening, fishing etc. in retirement, but for me a great coffee place and gym are top priorities...and as you noted the coffee must be good, but so too, the environment. Given I'm a coffee snob what with living in Australia...standards are high. Adda good book, yes book and one can while/wile away the hours. Great job! What was the price?
Yes, a good book, a good drink, sitting in the shade, is paradise. Different values as we get older and value simple things. The prices were average, around 60 baht as I recall. We go to so many places it gets a bit blurred. Best wishes.
สวัสดี Randy and Joy, Greetings from Bonsall Ca. ! My Wife and I are looking to retire in Thailand and your videos could not have more perfect in timing and content. If at all possible we would love to communicate directly with you. K̄hxbkhuṇ! Kuhn Bobo.
@@RetiredGlobalLife I wasn't aware Thailand grew coffee too. That's great! I'm a coffee addict so knowing about local coffee is good!! Can't manage without a good heart starter!! 😁
Home to CA as I still enjoy my job and need some time there. But I've also gone to the islands. Joy and I went to Koh Lipe this year, for example. And one day I'll actually edit all the footage we shot and make a video. (:
Decent restaurants, even super cheap ones, all seem to have good ice meaning from good water. you can usually tell because the ice has holes in it from the machines that are commercially used. So that signals good ice. I've always used the ice and never had a problem. I may think twice from some street vendors though when it comes to water/ice.
Yes, your term seems more appropriate, actually. But that's the Thai term. (: It is my girlfriend that is the coffee drinker. I'm the tea guy so I'm easier to please, and so simple to do at home.
