The media claimed if Caleb was dropped into last years team, he would instantly make them contenders. After all the additions on both sides of the ball, why are they only ranked 20th?

A funny thing about "media:" there is No Such Person As media. There *are* human beings though & those things love to promote their opinions as better than facts. For instance, Caleb would do this because he's better than Fields, right? At *what?* Seen side by side ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5JO1PsupF_U.html Fields is a better rusher & far more accurate passer. He also is capable of flinging the ball 50+ air yards at the flick of a wrist at weird arm angles & on the run. The only difference is that Williams insists on throwing high, arcing spirals on every pass. Fields throws the ball quickly & low allowing less time for defenders to adjust. So already their entire basis for this claim _and_ calling Williams generational are 100% wrong. Now if you want to argue about Fields' supposed failings in the NFL being due to any lack on his part, I'll indulge you. But unless you're a fan of Fields', I'd advise against it. Like the people in media, most NFL fans are Franchise Loyal, not player-friendly. So they don't like hearing that their teams' coaches, owners or GMs etc. did anything wrong. But how did Eberflus turn someone better than Caleb Williams into a bust _unless_ he is a terrible coach?

I 100% agree with everything you said big Dex is literally the key to the defense this year if the three tech isn’t doing right, the whole defense is out of whack. I thought we would have invested heavily in this position but I guess we’re rolling with what we have and it might be the right call but if it doesn’t work out this season, they’re gonna have to drop some capital into the unfortunately we will probably be good enough to take us out of position for a real game changer so we will have to trade up to get one :( 🐻🔽 Faiz. Oh yeah, we also need a dominant path rusher as well on the right end. Not sure how we’re gonna pull all this off and when draft, but it’s a necessity with the way the rules are on defense now.

I’d rather see this than the opposite: this GM, HC and team haven’t done anything yet, the NFNC is stacked and no one really knows about Caleb. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Bears are on the rise but just because they got better doesn't mean literally every other team got worse. Caleb's probably going to be good but he's still a rookie, he's going to have growing pains and he's going to make rookie mistakes, the offense is new and the offense is still learning and is still gelling. I predict 9-8 this season.

I live in ATL, yet Bears beat Falcons pretty handedly yet somehow Cousins makes a huge difference with same roster. Falcons didn't do anything that significant to improve team, especially, defensively. We'll see.

The ceiling is much higher than top 15 team. If Caleb Williams is in fact, the best quarterback coming out this year along with the trio wide receivers with a better play collar than we should have a bunch of wins in the first 10 games. And I think we’re going to sign another edge rusher before the season starts to help bolster our defense. And let’s not forget Matt Eberflus is a great defensive coordinator and it was night and day when he started, making all the decisions for us defensively. Plus we have special teams that’s one of the best in the NFL all around. I think our ceiling would be on the edge of top 10 and I’d be disappointed if we were any lower than top 16.

Hope your child is fine and Faizo-O, let us know if you can give us what this same organization said LAST year concerning rankings. I say that as this survey smells like a 50/50 crap shoot based on pure hype as every year almost 6 new teams make playoffs!

Sounds right there is a lot of potential but also a lot of unknown. It’s just weird they have them that high for how much they hyped Caleb up and our team dramatically improved. I’d have thought they would have been top 15 atleast.

I think the Bears can be better than the Lions. Last year the first time the Bears should of beat the Lions if it wasn't for really bad defensive play calling in the 4th Quarter, and we beat them the second time. Lions don't scare me. Historically we have been a much better team.

Ranked 20th is a horrific indictment of Poles and Eberflus. They've had three years to rebuild with a wealth of good fortunes in draft picks. Let us remember that Ryan Pace won 12 games in his third season, and a step away from the Super Bowl ..with Trubisky at QB, and Nagy as head coach. Translation..writers and coaches have little respect for the capabilities of Ebeflus and Poles.

Not saying Poles and Flus are definitely good but they went almost .500 with a worse QB, OC and WR core. If they don’t have a winning record this year, they have to go.

I’m not sure you can say Caleb Williams is an upgrade over Fields considering he’s never even taken an NFL snap yet…especially after you just gave his stats under pressure..

Most people know Caleb's an upgrade over Fields, Fields was only lethal as a runner, literally. Fields struggled as a backup in Pittsburghs off-season camp, he's having the same issues he had in Chicago, in case you forgot Fields ranked 40th+ in certain categories last season and there were only 31 other starters besides Fields

Fields is not that good of a quarterback can't make decisions all he knows how to do is run Williams is a far better quarterback than fields

@@anthonycothran352Fields definitely needs work. He was put in a no win situation and the team deliberately did so. And according to the media, Caleb would instantly make the Bears contenders even on last years team. No excuses. Let's see the results of their unproven claims and whims
