how did Rap replace this??? no no no no not dising all rap but its been going on longer than it should have. . . really miss the horns and Big PIPEs!!! AWESOME!!! the world need more of this!! there were so many great bands
The reason this music was replaced by rap music...both long standing country music and rap music does not require a a select singing voice and instruments were replaced with contemporary music technology resulting in fewer musical instrument lessons, the technology has spawn a new generation of performers and their artistic product is consumed by > 95% of the buying population that raps along instead of singing horribly in the shower...
I saw Chicago for the first time in August1973 at the CNE stadium in Toronto. Probably seen them a dozen times in Toronto (and once in Buffalo). Most recently, April 2023 at Rama Casino. Fifty years worth and I never get tired of their music and showmanship.
Keep listening!😊 (I’m a flight attendant and my trips last month were in Mexico City. You live in a beautiful city, with lots of culture, good food and good people!)
Thank GOD I grew up in this era of these bands! I was an usher at a concert venue from 1970-1974 with all my best teenage girlfriends and I can tell you we saw EVERYONE Including these two tremendous bands LIVE!!!! What a joy to see them here again, brings back those memories but I see all the boys are in great form!!! Gorgeous sounding and fabulous concerts and with both of these iconic bands and their songs, what a JOY!!!!!!!!💖😍
This is what July 1, 2005, looked like in New York City. There are literally hundreds of people who are there to hear good music and see two awesome bands play a few hits. Thank you Bobby Kid for sharing this video.
Oh my goodness how in earth do you get two iconic legends together on one stage ?? I love Chicago and EWF these legendary bands have been around at least 1/2 century and this concert was simply amazing and indeed wonderful WOW 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
I was just 20 years old when I saw these two legendary bands together, i'm 38 years old now God I feel old. Where did all the time go. Still love their music
If the Government and the Media would go away and leave us alone, they are the ones fueling the hate in our Country!!!! Every single day on TV news they do their best to divide us in as many ways as possible. Going as far as to get our kids to hate !!!! We need to all pray everyday for the Lord to take our Country back into his arms. It starts with us. More National prayer. Look how they’re using abortion to divide us even further.
@@chuckhutton5087 , yea it’s a shame Chuck that the gang activity gives Chicago such a black eye. Take the gang shootings out of the picture and you have a very vibrant city.
This is nice. I'm from Chicago, from where Chicago started and EWF also, Maurice and my uncle (sax) Don Myrick were in college together and at Chess records as session players. He played w EWF for years, then w Phil Collins, and MJ......That why I turned into a professional guitar player also, 46 years in...ALSO, I LOVED the band Chicago, they're legends!! . I was raised on Great Music!!!!
Your uncle Don Myrick was taken way too soon from us, may he rest in peace. He was an amazing musician, I was a young guy when I saw him perform with Phil Collins, just amazing!
I was thinking the exact same thing. And he was lead singer on many memorable songs… Beginnings, Saturday in the Park, Does Anyone Really Know What Time It Is. When Chicago had the trio of singers, Lamm, Cetera, and the late, great Terry Kath, they were really blessed with talent.
@@Primus54 Exactly right!! That trip of vocalists was tremendous!! Guess it is true, that you don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone. Those Chicago classics early 70’s til Terry’s unfortunate death were amazing!!!
OMG!!! How do you get 2 of the most legendary musical groups of all time, on one stage, and the stage remain in one piece? This is a miracle of epic proportions!!!
There’s a dvd out there with a concert they did together around 20 years ago. I borrowed it from my library and haven’t been able to find it since. It was soooooo good.
If we can only focus more on how similar we are to each other, rather than how we are different, the world would be a much better place. No hate, just love. Seeing these two legendary bands perform together is a testament to that. ❤
I was a young teen expecting a child. I listen to Chicago every night at bedtime. My son was listening inside me. He loves Chicago. His 50th BD May 21st . My son made his momma very proud!
I love this collaboration between two of the greatest bands in history, ironically both from the Chicago area. Their music is classic and will live in for generations to come.
@@lilbrav6335"The Patriot' by Topher and The Marine Rapper, 'Family First' by Demun Jones. The good stuff is out there but corporations won't promote it, more money on Gangsta.
phillip Bailey you are my n# 1. All the best musician are all together. 🔥 got goose bumps. thank you for the music. you are legens. When Earth Wind and Fire 🔥 came to Uruguay 🇺🇾 and played in the Conrad 🏨 hotel I couldn't go. next time hope I can. Chicago is awsome love them too.
It is very important and instructive when your audience sings and performs your lyrics in unison full and complete without missing a single inflection or beat. Simply amazing 👏🏼
This is very cool I was lucky enough to see both of these bands when they were in there absolute absolute prime I saw Chicago for the first time back in 1969 and I saw Earth wind & fire in 1971 I've seen both bands over the years probably 15 times a piece absolutely incredible I was so heartbroken by the passing of Terry Kath and Maurice White two brilliant songwriters and musicians may they rest in peace 🙏
Look up on YT 25/6/4 Live at Tanglewood 1970 where Danny Seraphine is fumbling with drum kit while Terry starts the intro. One of great guitar performances of all time . Terry was an absolute monster on guitar and had a fine voice too. Too bad that after Terry’s untimely passing in Jan 1978 that Chicago lost direction under the tutelage of Peter Cetera and David Foster ( yuk) and got “ soft.” The post 1978 Chicago is mostly elevator music and sappy love songs. The 1970 Chicago absolutely rocked. Terry Kath was and is missed.
The most fun concert I ever attended (and I went to hundreds for free) was EW&F, or The Elements as we called them back in the day. The energy level was incredible! I'll never forget it.
I love both bands, musicianship! I was fortunate to have seen both bands in their hay-day. Tells you how old I am, terrific music. Chicago was the first real concert I went to with my jr high friends.
Killer Grooves, Great Rhythm, Great Horns, Blacks, Whites, Mexicans, Asians and many more fine colors celebrating joyfully the merging of a "black" band and a "white" band . . . this concert is already a classic and its just great in so many ways !!! N.B. Vienna.
These two groups are the reason why I also like Bruno Mars - the horns section is just lit. The brass/horns section of Chicago and EWF are what makes their music timeless. It’s just amazing feeling everytime you hear their songs.
They played this beautiful Chicago song about "not worrying about time" on my car radio on my way to work. It was "my last day" working before Covid-19 ended my 12-year-long job on Friday the 13th, 2020, coincidentally. 😷
I was in my early teens din the 70s and didn’t realize how amazing these lyrics were until I reached my twenties. Now I’m in my fifties and can’t get enough of these songs. Some bring tears to my eyes for cherished memories. Thank you for the compilation. 🥰🥰🥰
