How is it that the Fed President doesn't understand that inflation has not come down? The "rate of inflation" has come down. Those are two wildly different things. Inflation is still up 20-30%. How does a guy like this get a job like this????

Inflation *IS A RATE*. Prices have not come down, and it would take a severe depression to bring them down. Unless that's what you really want, the inflation is permanent, and we just have to move past it. Personally, I just want inflation to come down to target.
@@ryann8348 the definition of "inflation" refers to the condition of being inflated, in this case prices. There is also the "inflation rate", which refers to the rate at which something, in this case prices, rises. I disagree that it would require a "severe depression" to bring them down. Perhaps a moderate recession with additional unemployment. The inflated prices are not necessarily permanent. For example, we have already seen prices of many things start to come down in the current environment as unemployment rises and demand decreases.
