Chicago Fire Department responding to various different emergencies over the course of 3 days. I stayed at a hotel right by 42s so that’s why there’s so many videos from there. Ambulances will have their own compilation. Enjoy
Bully for you but that's a violation in most cities. Just seldom enforced. Car horns are warning devices & not for intimidation, impatience or scolding.
@Itz_Cyclone Gaming Which is why we use them, as a WARNING DEVICE to ensure drivers are aware we are proceeding through an intersection including against a red signal or potentially blocking traffic. You are correct.
Chicago fd your service and time and efforts are deeply appreciated thanks to everyone who responds keep them safe out there in the windy city of Chicago job well done you should be proud appreciate you guys terrific catches as usual way to go ! Joe
Nice capture. Glad I stopped by a few of those on my trip to Chicago earlier this year. The castle looking Station 98 is my favorite next to the water tower.
Yeah, it is Engine 18 in real life, but on TV with Chicago Fire, it is better known as Firehouse 51 home to Engine Company 51, Rescue Squad 3, Ambulance 61, Deputy District 2-2-6, and Truck Company 81.
Great job great catches as usual by Chicago fd responding your service and time and efforts are deeply appreciated thanks don't work to hard keep them safe out there in the windy city of Chicago job well done you should be amazed and proud love and appreciate you guys you guys rock thanks ! Joe
Nice collection of Chicago fire appliances/apparatus mate, Chicago has always been my most favourite US fire department since the first Backdraft film. 🧑🏻👍🏻🚒
my brothers father in law retired from CFD, 30 years on the job. his name is Leo Kehoe. i think he was at Truck 3. Tim is his son in law, we both served as volunteers with Lyndon FD in Louisville KY. i know that Leo also worked as truck driver to support his family on his off days. i knew him personally. a great man. he went into fires with no air pack on one fire and almost died. they made a rescue that night.
I can remember going on a field trip to the Chicago Fire department Station in the 80s when I was with the South Bend Indiana Fire Department Explorer Post Good Times
I realize driving laws vary from state to state but it makes sense to me as a Californian that cross hatches painted on the street mean "don't stop here/do not block".
I'm from Quebec, Canada and it's the same, but the amount of people who seem to not know that is honestly mindboggling... I've seen some firetrucks literally push cars out of the way a few times because the people didn't seem to care 😐...
Ambulance is the most popular ones they have to go get somebody from somewhere and rush them to the hospital all these traffic block their ways sometimes make them slower
Recently stayed by this house in Chicago in a hotel several blocks down on Dearborn. Great place to stay for buffing; not so much for getting a good night's sleep! LOL
If you hear a siren, it's people coming like the cavalry to save people. We don't use sirens when people are dead. We call the ME. So be glad, if a bit annoyed, when you hear the cavalry's bugle. By the way, Chicago is on Lake Michigan, not Erie. Just joshing you.
@@posthumousc4913 Agreed but too much noise & people tune out, buds in, leave reality behind. I was taught years ago in EVOC to avoid continuous use of warning devices: sirens, air horns, profanity. We would run late at night without anything but emergency lights slowing to clear intersections. This is less practical in a city like Chicago but moderation is a virtue.
The captain of engine 42 told me to get on the Chicago fire department. I think I’ll stick with the small towns 😂 these big city guys are a different breed
I lived in Norwood Park in the 70s. The local station there still had the quarters above the truck garage with the brass fire pole. Saw a demo during a class field trip.
I support the people that are in the fire department services and the police department and rescue and emt department services love and respect you all for your service that you do
Visited the water tower house in 1986, Great bunch of guys, They arranged for the Hendricson Morita to come to the station and I was given a tour of downtown in it. Even got a chopper ride from midway.
The CFD are the best if I lived in Chicago and worked as a firefighter I will probably want to work at the fire station where backdraft was filmed or where Chicago fire was filmed
It is a snorkel paired with a rescue there used to be snorkel squad and normal squads due to budget cuts and no staffing they combine them to be two-piece squads
Has Q, uses electronic version, of the Q, that they have. Now we have Q’s, i use electronic siren, but not an Electronic version of the Q that i’m not using. This paragraph brought to you by the letter Q
That’s Bc all their rigs have the electrical Qs. Not one rig has the Q2b siren. The trucks with the covers that look like real Qs are exactly that. Covers to make it look like real Qs.
Green & blue lights are more visible in various conditions so are being added all over. We hate to admit the Europeans were right about anything but EU standards keep showing up in US recommendations. Reflective chevrons on the back for instance. FDNY's newer apparatus have a blue light now.
Does anyone know where the 1A Rosenbaur piece, is? Was it in an accident or something? Usually they pull both from service at the same time if one unit goes to the shop.
The last part with the 2 Apparatus Returning To Quarters was a good "rap up" scene, the fact the CFD Ambulance was also Responding at the same time was a good way of showing Fire Departments are never truly "Off Duty" their just "Off The Clock", same with Law Enforcement.
