Chicago's first 3 goals were fixed. Their first goal was completely offside. The second one the refs gave a red and a penalty for a light touch. The third goal was on a corner kick that was supposed to be a goal kick

Silly comment to say that MLS hates Montreal. Puhleease... The Fire have certainly gotten their fair share of BS officiating over the years. But yes, officiating in general is terrible. The penalty calls for both teams were soft overall. I love the game, but the underlying problem for bad officiating in soccer in any and every league is that the sport's rules are... bad. Handball, penalty calls, offsides, these are just plain problematic rules where judgement calls are much too impactful on the outcome of games. I've thought the rules of soccer are antiquated for years and desperately need modernizing and reworking. It'll never happen, and thus there will always be games like this where questionable calls leave a bad taste in one's mouth.

Awful if you mean the first two goals are based on bogus fouls. So sick of the theatrics. The first is just nonsense. The second is complete garbage. If this is how legitimate goals are now scored in soccer there should be camps for kids to show them how important it is to create fouls in the box.

1st chicago goal wast clearly offside, and... 19 minutes of overtime ? + the third chicago goal, on a corner, which was suppoed to be a goal kick

Because, if you watched the game in its entirety and not MLS edited highlights (in which they tend to edit to show refs favorably), you would see that every goal scored by Chicago was linked to a refereeing error. 1st goal is a clear offside which was not called. 2nd goal was a penalty (which it should’ve been) but the red card was definitely harsh. 3rd goal was on a corner that shouldn't have even been a corner because there was no deflection. 4th goal happened directly after what was a clear foul throw (Teran's feet were both inside the pitch as he threw the ball). Add to those things the fact that refs added 22 additional minutes and should've probably gave Chicago's keeper a red card for a DOGSO handball earlier in the match, theres a reason why we say we got robbed.

I saw Teran’s throw in too and wondered why his throw wasn’t called back. He had 80 percent of his foot inside the play area. Was very obvious.

@@cffan1 Edwards hit Koutsias with his elbow in the ribs, but it was a pretty weak contact (the type of contact you often see where it's given as a yellow in a scramble for example). The penalty was rightly given but I thought (and yes I'm biased, but seems like a decent amount of Chicago fans agreed on social media), that it was a pretty harsh call.

Yes, one of the more insightful comments. It's quite evident that Chicago still has the same problems that have plagued them for years (poor marking, stiff and hesitant offense, lack of true goal scorers). It's early, but it does look like the breakthrough is not going to come this year.
