This is Peter Cetera's song, from "Chicago VII", 1974. I think it's the most underrated Chicago ballad. Sung in this video by Jason Scheff (Tokyo, 1993).
Heard a cover band sing it and it haunted me for 40 years! Didn't know enough of the words or the band. Put on chicago cd and there it was! Beautiful song.
I'm a cetera fan.. ok he's the original guy... but what do u want the band to do... stop the music becoz cetera don't want to do it anymore??? jason scheff has his own style...just give a credit to him also...
Damn. This song is HARD to sing! Jason does an amazing job. Those chord changes are wicked tricky. Cheese alert: Jason, I'm falling in love with you through time, 30 years.
Jeez, just appreciate the gig the way it is. They are still class musicians. No its not the true Chicago. Don't knock Bill. He's been around and has paid his dues. When this song was originally released they even had new members. I don't remember anyone knocking Donnie Dacus when he played guitar, and the guy could play. No it was not Kath - but a new sound. This is a new sound.
From the start, I never liked Peter Cetera's voice. His voice is irritating to the ears, plus he's not good looking. There's nothing attractive in his person. But I like the songs of the Chicago. So, Jason Scheff is so refreshing voicewise and lookswise, after Cetera. No offense meant Cetera fans. I like Jason Scheff much much better!!!
Labyrinth Crawford Well I like Jason too and no offense to his fans but he doesn't come close to Peter's looks or his distinctive voice or his stage performance , I like Peter better and I think he's gorgeous , I guess we all have our own opinion !!!!!!!!!!
Well from the start you may have to get your ears checked cause there's no one who could match Peters sultry VOICE and although looks have nothing to do with it , I think PETER' S gorgeous , love those dimples and beautiful mesmerizing eyes , he has it all , LEGEND !!!!!!
Great bass playing and excellent vocal! Ladies and gentlemen Jason Freakin' Scheff!!! I was sooo disappointed that he left the band. Such an excellent and humble musician. I never really felt like he was trying to replace Cetera...rather the next bass player/tenor vocalist.
So disappointed when Jason left the band (or was unceremoniously fired?). So many people were critical of Jason bc he "wasn't Cetera". Screw those people! Jason is a tremendous bassist and vocalist. He lifted Chicago when they were on the downfall
Oh I love Jason on this! I enjoyed Dawayne Bailey's guitar very much too. Love the jazzy feel . Great performance overall! I also saw Lee sing this one last year.. and I love Lee's voice, but I think Jason wins this one.
@@judyborden569 simple math Judy. 1968-1985 is 17 years. 1986-2016 is 30 years. Im no brain surgeon but it would appear that Jason served almost double the amount of time Cetera did.
Why does it matter how long they were there , I like Jason, but no one can come close to Peter's distIncive voice , he is one of a kind , he will always be the VOICE of Chicago !!!!!!
we cannot compare jason with peter or peter with jason, coz their two different man. it's not proper to say one is better than another, the thing is they sing the song whole heartedly and we sing together with their song in the same time.
