Hailey always wants to do things on her own, sometimes jeopardizing the case. She is a hypocrite cop. She doesn't like when her team breaking rules and not going by the book, but it's fine when she's the one who does that. Season 6: a. Hailey persuaded Devin Williams to confess to a murder he didn't commit. She talked softly, pretended to care about him and brought up his personal matters in the past that led him suicidal. It turned out he's not the killer but it's too late. He took his own life in his holding cell, found by Hailey and Trudy. Then Deputy Brennan with IAD held an investigation into Hailey questioning her interrogation tactics. But Voight approached Brennan to drop the investigation and he said he cared about Hailey saying she's good. b. Hailey manipulated Adam into shooting Alderman Collier when the alderman was reaching his gun. She couldn't take the shot herself and let Adam do the shooting. Voight asked her why she didn't take the shot before Adam but she couldn't answer and Adam covered her up by lying and saying there were two bystanders so Hailey was not able to shoot but the reality was there were just Hailey, Adam, and the alderman. Season 7-8: Hailey was 100% fine when she "orchestrated" the revenge murder of Darius Walker, a man who killed her CI but she got anxiety and panic attack after killing Roy Walton who beat, dragged, and shot her co-worker Kim multiple times and also killed Deputy Miller's son. Apparently Hailey didn't care about Kim who was in between life and death. Season 9: Hailey abandoned her sergeant's instruction not to go inside the house alone without backup (even Jay said the same thing to her) but she ignored him and chose to keep going "to save a little boy." etc.
