Peter Cetera's last tour w/Chicago. At this point in the tour there was a lot of friction. 6 months later the band gave him an ultimatum, Chicago or his solo career. We know what Peter chose. Chicago hasn't been the same w/out him since. Losing your 2 front lead singers, Kath "RIP" 1978 and Cetera 1985, your done. Like a steak on the grill.
Yup, they should have let him do his solo project, but remain with the band like they did for Method Man, and Dirty O'l Bastard, and I think Red Man too, in Wu Tang Clan, but fast forward maybe 15 yr later, they were calling their own shots, and I guess back then it was a little tougher to do that😢
@annabrent1913 Cetera's hand was forced. The band and management first agreed to (1) Let him spend time with his newborn daughter (born in 1983) (2) They agreed to give him time off and let him do his second solo album . The band/management RENEGED on those promises. That's why Cetera left . Peter was never fired but he certainly was DECEIVED. I would done the same thing he did. The 2016 RRHOF when Cetera declined to participate was because the band members were still jealous, condescending and they never changed. Again I would've done exactly what Cetera did. He was open to performing with them but the feeling was NOT reciprocated , evidenced by a snarky , smart Alec E-mail they sent in response to a few requests he made. They could've worked something out but Cetera was insulted instead.
@@waltersimmons946 Peter also wanted to do songs in drastically different keys to make up for his decreased vocal range at the RRHOF performance. Understandable, because age is particularly hard on the vocal chords. But "25 or 6 to 4" in Em sounds like crap, and the band said no.
@@LaneDenson It would've sounded good because as Bill Champlin said to John Beaudin a few years ago "Cetera could lower any song down 4 keys and its still gonna sound like Cetera". Also if you listen to Scheff or Jeff Coffey they lowered "If you leave me now " down to where Cetera sang it as an older soloist. The concerts are on RU-vid. They lowered it down to A MAJOR like Cetera did. I notice Chicago and the fans didn't complain. The remaining band members really have no excuse to not accommodate Cetera just for one night. Cetera was right to stay away from grumpy old men who claimed "We can cut it in any key ". Come on man.
Gracias por subir éstos videos de Peter Cetera por qué este hombre con sus canciones me hace muy feliz pero alguien me puede decir si aún vive por favor gracias
